Humbert I the Whitehanded, Count of Salmourenc in the Viennois in 1003, of Noyon 1018, of Aosta 1024, and of Moriana (Maurienne) 1038, founder of the House of Savoy. The House of Savoy included many counts of Savoy through the 14th century, then many dukes of Savoy into the 17th century, and kings of Sardinia and Italy after that. Humbert was succeded as Count of Savoy by his sons Amadeus I, then Odo.
