3486. Elizabeth of the Cumans. Born ca 1240. Elizabeth died aft 1290.

Elizabeth’s husband died only two years after his father, and the country for a number of years.

In 1253 Elizabeth married King István V of Hungary (3902) , son of King Béla IV of Hungary (3469) (Nov 1206-3 May 1270) & Maria Laskarina (ca 1206-1270). Born in Dec 1239 in Buda. István V died on 1 Aug 1272.

Stephen V, king of Hungary (1270-1272). To insure the loyalty of the Kumans, a people who fled into Hungary before the Mongols, István’s father Béla IV had married him to a Kuman princess.
