337. Sergt. John Batchelder. Born ca 1604 in Kent, England. John died on 3 Mar 1676 in Reading, MA.14 Occupation: tailor.

John Bachelor, also spelled Bacheler and Batchelor, and descendants used Batchelder, was a proprietor of Watertown, MA, in 1636/7. He was admitted freeman there 13 May 1640. Later of Dedham. He sold a 36-acre lot in Watertown to Jeremiah Norcross previous to 1642.11

John was in Reading as early as 1651. He was selectman several years.15 John, of Watertown, Dedham, and Reading.

John first married Rebecca [Batchelder]. Born ca 1611. Rebecca died on 9 Mar 1661/2 in Reading, MA.14

John second married Sarah [Batchelder]. Sarah died on 21 Dec 1685 in Reading, MA.14
