741. Hopestill Bisbee. Born ca 1645 in Scituate, MA. Hopestill was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 7 Sep 1645.116 Hopestill died on 12 Nov 1695 in Marshfield, MA.58

Hopestill was sworn as constable for Marshfield 5 Jun 1683 [Plym. Col. Rec., 6:107], served as juryman 6 Jul 1686 [Plym. Col. Rec., 6:196-7], and as a grand juryman Apr 1690 [Plym. Col. Rec., 6:237].

ca 1680 Hopestill married Sarah King (5892) , daughter of Eld. Thomas King (1604) (ca 1613-24 Sep 1691) & Sarah Tinker (2173) (ca 1619-6 Jun 1652). Born on 24 May 1650 in Scituate, MA.116,3 At the age of <1, Sarah was baptized on 26 May 1650.106 Sarah died in Hingham, MA, on 20 Oct 1716; she was 66.33

In the Bisbee Family,18 and other sources, Sarah is said to have been married to Elisha Bisbee (Hopestill’s brother), rather than Hopestill Bisbee. Sarah’s father, Thomas, bequeathed in 1691 “to my daughter, Sarah Bisbey, the use and improvement of three acres of marsh land, up the river in Marshfield next to the ‘Gravely Beach’ there and so by upland side, during her natuaral live and the life of her husband.” At that time Elisha Bisbee was married to Mary Jacob, so Sarah King could not have been married to Elisha, but could have been married to Hopestill Bisbee.

742. John Bisbee. Born ca 1645 in Scituate, MA. John was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 21 Dec 1645.116 John died on 4 Sep 1726 in Pembroke, MA.125

On 13 Sep 1687 John married Joanna Brooks (831) , daughter of William Brooks (359) (ca 1615-bet 7 Jul 1680 and 24 Jan 1682/3) & [Brooks] (-bet 1659 and 1665), in Marshfield, MA.3 Born ca Oct 1659 in Scituate, MA. Joanna was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 16 Oct 1659.116 Joanna died on 17 Aug 1726 in Pembroke, MA.125

743. Mary Bisbee. Born on 15 Jan 1648 in Scituate, MA.2 At the age of <1, Mary was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 10 Sep 1648.116 Mary died in Hingham, MA, on 13 Jan 1718; she was 69.33

On 15 Jan 1678 when Mary was 30, she married Jacob Beal (26875) , son of John Beal (ca 1588-1 Apr 1688) & Nazareth Hobart (14961) (ca 1601-23 Sep 1658), in Hingham, MA. Born ca 1642 in Hingham, MA. Jacob was baptized in Hingham, MA, on 13 Oct 1642.33 Jacob died on 7 Jan 1717/8 in Hingham, MA.33

Jacob, selectman 1687, 1693, 1697, and 1700. Jacob and Mary resided on North St., West Hingham.33 Freeman 1672.

744. Martha Bisbee. Born ca 1651 in Scituate, MA. Martha was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 27 Apr 1651.116 Martha died on 24 Mar 1687 in Scituate, MA.116

ca 1677 Martha married Jonathan Turner (7859) , son of John Turner Sr. (2194) (ca 1621-aft 20 May 1697) & Mary Brewster (6533) (16 Apr 1627-aft 23 Mar 1698). Born on 20 Sep 1646 in Scituate, MA.116,3 Jonathan was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, in May 1649.116 Jonathan died in Cohasset, MA, on 18 Apr 1724; he was 77.126 Occupation: cordwainer.

Johnathan resided near the place now [1831] occupied by Cushing Otis, Esq. opposite Union bridge lane.6 He succeeded to the tannery that his father had built, and built a house on a part of his father’s grant upon the southwest section of the 80 acres.7

745. Ens. Elisha Bisbee. Born ca 1654 in Scituate, MA. Elisha was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 29 Oct 1654.116 Elisha died on 4 Mar 1716 in Hingham, MA. Occupation: tavern keeper.6

On 25 Mar 1685 Elisha married Mary Jacob (12861) , daughter of Capt. John Jacob (4767) (ca 1630-18 Sep 1693) & Margery Eames (4206) (ca 1630-7 Apr 1659).33 Born on 30 Mar 1656 in Scituate, MA.33 Mary died in Pembroke, MA, on 16 May 1737; she was 81.125 Buried in Pembroke, MA GR1.

Thomas was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 28 Jun 1657.116 Thomas died on 30 May 1733 in Scituate, MA.116 Buried in South Parish Cem. Norwell.
