978. Mary Clark. Born ca 1590 in England. Mary died on 22 Jun 1681 in Hingham, MA.33

Mary outlived Edward, and returned to Hingham.7

On 3 Jun 1614 Mary married Edward Gilman (1298) , son of Edward Gilman (442) (22 Jun 1555-Mar 1631) & Mary Hawes (1561-9 Mar 1618), in Hingham, Norfolk, Eng. Born ca 1587 in England. Edward was baptized in Hingham, Norfolk, on 20 Apr 1587. Edward died on 22 Jun 1655 in Exeter, NH.

Edward came to Boston 1638 in the Diligent with his wife, three sons, two daughters, and two servants. He was from Hingham, England, where the family is still residing in high esteem. Freeman 13 Mar 1639. He removed to Rehoboth 1643, and to Ipswich soon after, where he was in 1647, and to Exeter after 1652.2

“Edward, from Hing. Eng., ‘with his wife, 3 sons, and two daughters, and 3 servants, came and settled in this Town of Hingham 1638;’ and the same yr. land was granted to him. After remaining here [Hingham, MA] a few yrs. however, he removed to other places, and finally settled at Exeter, N. H., where he passed the remainder of his days. On Oct. 14, 1652, being then of Ipswich, he conveyed his home and land in ‘Bachelor’s Rowe,’ Hingham, which he had previously purchased of Nicholas Jacob, together with other lots of land either granted him by the town or obtained by purchase, to his s.-in-law Daniel Cushing.”33

979. Rebecca Clark. Born on 2 May 1585 in Hingham, MA.

On 21 May 1617 when Rebecca was 32, she married Joseph Peck in Hingham, Norfolk. Born on 30 Apr 1587 in Beccles, Suffolk, Eng. Joseph died in Rehoboth, MA, on 23 Dec 1663; he was 76.

Joseph “came to Hing. 1638, and had a grant of land containing seven acres on Bachelor (Main) St. The location of this lot was in the vicinity of what is now the junction of Main and Water Sts. Daniel Cushing’s rec. for 1738 says: ‘Mr. Joseph Peck and his wife with 3 sones and daughter, and 2 men servants and 3 maid servants, came from Old Hingham and settled in New HIngham.’ ... Freeman 13 March, 1639, and representative 1639 to 1642 inc. IN 1745, Joseph and most of his fam. removed to Rehoboth, where he d. 22 Dec. 1663.”33
