John came to Plymouth on the Mayflower with his father; freeman 1 Jan 1634.

On 28 Mar 1634 John married Sarah Warren (2291) , daughter of Richard Warren (620) (ca 1578-1628) & Elizabeth Walker (ca 1583-[2]2 Oct 1673), in Plymouth, MA.3 Born ca 1614 in England.24 Sarah died aft 15 Jul 1696.121

Sarah came to New England on the Anne in 1623 with her mother and four sisters.

1033. Jane Cooke. Born bef 1613 in Leiden, Holland.24 Jane died bef 1641 in Plymouth, MA.5

ca 1627/8 Jane married Experience Mitchell, son of Thomas Mitchell & Margrite Williams, in Plymouth, MA. Born ca 1603/1609 in prob. Amsterdam. Experience died bet 1684 and 1689 in Bridgewater, MA.

Experience immigrated to America in 1623 on the third ship from Leydon to Plymouth, the Anne. He was one of the people in Lot 1, along with John Cooke, when the cows and goats were equally divided in Plymouth on May 22, 1627. He was one of the Purchasers and on the 1633 Freeman list. He later moved to Duxbury and was there by 1639/40. He was a highway surveyor and served on various juries. On June 7, 1659, he was fined ten shillings for refusing to serve on the grand jury. When his will was written, he was living in the town of Bridgewater. He also owned land in Middlebury.

1034. Jacob Cooke. Born ca 1618 in Leiden, Holland.24 Jacob died in Dec 1675 in Plymouth, MA.24

Jacob Cooke was born in Holland and came over in the Ann with his mother and sisters in 1623, three years after his father arrived in the Mayflower.


Jacob’s will, dated 11 Dec 1675, exhibited 8 Mar 1676, names wife Elizabeth, three youngest daughters, eldest son Caleb, son Jacob, brother John Tomson, brother Wright, son Francis, six daughters, cozen Daniel Wilcockes. Inventory 18 Dec 1675.158

shortly after 10 jun 1646 Jacob first married Damaris Hopkins (1507) , daughter of Stephen Hopkins (477) (ca 1580-bet 6 Jun and 17 Jul 1644) & Elizabeth Fisher (-early 1640s), in Plymouth, MA.5 Born ca 1628 in Plymouth, MA.5 Damaris died bet Oct 1666 and Nov 1668 in Plymouth, MA.24

Elizabeth married first William Shurtleff, second Jacob Cooke, and third Hugh Cole.

1035. Hester Cooke. Born ca 1620 in Holland.24 Hester died ca 1670 to 1795 in Plymouth, MA.

On 21 Nov 1644 Hester married Richard Wright in Plymouth, MA.24 Born ca 1608.24 Richard died on 9 Jun 1691 in Plymouth, MA.26 Occupation: tailor.

Richard was constable of Plymouth in 1652.158

On 26 Dec 1645 Mary married Lieut. John Tomson in Plymouth, MA.3 Born ca 1616/7.24 John died on 16 Jun 1696 in Middleboro, MA.24

John was on the 1643 list of men able to bear arms for Plymouth. He was constable of Plymouth in 1650, surveyor of highways for Barnstable 1653, frequently selectman there from 1665 through 1673, and selectman for Middleboro in 1674.158
