On 12 Oct 1620 John married Margaret Powell, daughter of William Powell, in St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, Surrey.

1193. Dea. Thomas Ensign. Born ca 1599 in Rye, Sussex. Thomas was baptized in Rye, Sussex, on 15 Apr 1599. Thomas died bet 16 Jul 1663 and 17 Feb 1663/4 in Scituate, MA. Occupation: yeoman.

From Deane’s History of Scituate:6
“Thomas Ensign purchased the third cliff of Mr Hatherly 1640, also Mr James Cudworth’s house, and five acres adjoining the bridge, on the north, at the Harbour, 1642. He was one of the Conihassett partners, 1646.”

Thomas's estate was probated 9 Jun 1664 in General Court, Plymouth Colony.
Thomas had two daughters named Hannah–one by his first wife Hannah Wiborne, the other by his second wife Elizabeth Wilder.176

On 27 Apr 1629 Thomas first married Hannah Wybourne, daughter of John Wybourne (1568-1616/7) & Martha Keene, in Cranbrook, Kent, Eng.176 Hannah died in 1639 in Biddenden, Kent. Buried on 20 Jan 1638/9 in Biddenden, Kent.

1195. David Ensing. Born ca 1603 in Rye, Sussex. David was baptized in Rye, Sussex, on 3 Jul 1603. Education: Emmanuel College, Cambridge, B.A. 1625/6, M.A. 1629.

1196. James Ensign. Born ca 1606 in Rye, Sussex. James was baptized in Rye, Sussex, on 1 Jun 1606.12 James died in Nov/Dec 1670 in Hartford, CT.12

James was at Cambridge, MA, by 1634, freeman 4 mar 1635, and removed to Hartford in 1639 where he was constable 1649 and 1662, chimney viewer 1655, townsman 1656. He was a founding member of the First Congregational Church at Hartford, and a member of the Second Congregational Church in 1670.

James’ estate was probated 2 Mar 1670/1.

James married Sarah [Ensign]. Sarah died in May 1676 in Hartford, CT.12

On 16 Jun 1631 Constance married Edward Fowle in Glynde, Sussex. Edward died on 13 Mar 1639/40 in Hove, Sussex.
