1206. Lieut. Gershom Flagg. Born on 16 Apr 1641 in Watertown, MA.11 Gershom died in Lee, NH, on 6 Jul 1690; he was 49.34 Occupation: tanner.

Gershom was the eldest son of Thomas Flagg. He was admitted freeman 27 May 1674, went to Woburn about 1668, and lived in the center of the village.11

“In 1673 Gershom had his dwelling-house, and tanning establishments, with about an acre of land attached, in High Street [in Woburn], near the site of the first meeting-house, having Rev. Mr. Carter’s house on the West, the Old Burying Place on the East, and the Training Field on the South. ... Lieut. Gershom Flagg was killed, with Wiswall his captain and others, by the Indians at Wheelwright’s Pond, in the town of Lee, NH, 6 Jul 1690.”150

1209. Thomas Flagg. Born on 28 Apr 1646 in Watertown, MA.11 Thomas died ca 1719 in Weston, MA.

Thomas was the guardian of Lydia, daughter of Abraham Browne Jr., and he lived some time on the land belonging to the estate of Abraham Browne Sr., which had been occupied by Abraham Jr., after his marriage.11

On 18 Feb 1667/8 when Thomas was 21, he first married Rebecca Dix (1128) , daughter of Edward Dix (415) (ca 1609/10-9 Jul 1660) & Jane [Dix] (-18 Feb 1642), in Watertown, MA.11 Born on 28 Feb 1641/2 in Watertown, MA.11

Michael was an early proprietor of Worcester.11

On 3 Jun 1674 when Michael was 23, he first married Mary Bigelow, daughter of John Bigelow (ca Feb 1617-14 Jul 1703) & Mary Warren (ca Sep 1624-19 Oct 1691), in Watertown, MA.11 Born on 18 Mar 1648/9 in Watertown, MA.11 Mary died in Watertown, MA, on 3 Sep 1704; she was 55.11

Mary Bigelow and Michael Flagg married on the same day as Mary’s brother Samuel Bigelow and Michael’s sister Mary Flagg.

Joshua was wounded in King Philip’s War in Capt. Ting’s company, and was wounded. He received therefore a grant of land in Worcester. He moved to Westminster, MA, in June 1742.11 178

Samuel, admitted freeman 16 Apr 1690, selectman seven years from 1697 through 1716, representative 1708 through 1710. He was an Innholder, 1702 to 1716.11

Samuel's will, dated 30 Sep 1720, proved 21 Feb 1731, mentions sons John, Samuel, Thomas, and Isaac; three daughters Mercy Gearfield, Abigail Cutler, and Deliverance Stearns; sons-in-law Thomas Read, Josiah How, and Daniel Warren; grandson David Bruce; and grandchildren Nathaniel, Isaac, Thomas, and Catherine Read, Phineas, Abraham, and Rachel Howe, and Samuel, Daniel, and Hannah Warren.

Stephen was admitted to Mr. Bailey’s church, f.c., 4 Mary 1688. As he lived on the border of Cab. (Newton), the births of his children are recorded there.11 He was a freeman in 1690.2
