Jan, or Jean, Fauce, Fouseer, Fausee, Fousee, or Fouseur, even de Maÿer (the Dutch for mower or reaper, the meaning of the French foseur) . Jan and Eva Fouseer are 18th and 19th on the member list of the Sleepy Hollow Reformed Church.181
Jan Fouse was a witness at the 1698 baptism of Robbert, son of Robbert & Greesje Willemze.
Also the 1708 baptism of his nephew Pieter, son fo Pieter & Abigail Fousy.
ca 1696 Jan married Eva Matthyse Franse.

Jan and Eva were witnesses at the following baptisms:
1697 for Margrieta, daughter of Francoys & Resulla Giljon [Francis & Ursulla Willems];
1702 for Jannitje, daughter of Jan & Engeltje Eemett, probably Engeltje was Eva’s sister;
1727 for their granddaughter Judith, daughter of Hendrick Kierse & Judith Voushier.
Eva Franse was a witness at the 1718 baptism at New York for Dorathea, daughter of Willem Tihl & Sara De Puw.

1243. Pierre Foshay. Born ca 1683 in France. Pierre died aft Apr 1751.
Pierre, or Pieter, Fousy, Foseur, or Fuzurs.
Pierre immigrated in 1695 with his parents. He was a tenant farmer at Phillips Manor. He joined the Sleepy Hollow Reformed Church 2 Apr 1726.
In 1704 Pierre married Abigail Depew, daughter of William Depew (Aug 1663-1706) & Elizabeth Weyt, in Sleepy Hollow Reformed Church.181 “Pieter Fouseur, j.m., and Abigail, j.d. of Willem de Puw, both living on the Manner of Phillips Burgh”. Born ca 1689 in Westchester Co., NY.59 Abigail died aft Apr 1751.
