bef 1653 Abigail first married William Hatch (14254) , son of Eld. William Hatch (5035) (1598-6 Nov 1651) & Jane Younge (31 Dec 1593-8 Oct 1653).5 Born ca 1629 in Wye, Ashford, Kent. William was baptized in Wye, Ashford, Kent, on 9 Aug 1629.65 William died ca 1654 in Virginia.

William came to New England with his partents in Mar 1635 on the Hercules. He owned a house on Kent St. in Scituate, which passed to his daughter Phebe after his death.

1444. Mary Hewes. Born ca 1637.5 Mary died bet 1713 & 20 Sep 1716.

On 29 Dec 1657 Mary married Jeremiah Hatch (14245) , son of Thomas Hatch (5034) (ca Jun 1596-bef 14 Jun 1646) & Lydia Gyles (-aft 1665), in Scituate, MA.116 Born ca 1626 in Wye, Ashford, Kent. Jeremiah was baptized in Wye, Ashford, Kent, on 23 Jul 1626.65 Jeremiah died ca 1712 in Scituate, MA. Occupation: ship builder.6

Jeremiah “was an active citizen, selectman, rep. 1675, 6, 9, and 80.”2 Jeremiah “was often deputy to the general court; was surveyor, selectman, and prominent in town affairs. He owned a large amount of land, granted him by town of Scituate.”25

Jeremiah settled near Walter Hatch with whom he was engaged in ship building for many years. He was often a deputy to Colony Court, a surveyor, and selectman.6

In 1674 William Hatch and Jeremiah Hatch were fined for refusing to serve as constables.
