A “Wm: Rees” was a freeholder in Claverack in 1720.109
ca 1670 Willem Andriesse married Catrina Janse.96
Willem and Catherina were witnesses for several baptisms:
1712 at West Camp for their grandson Andreas Lassen (s. of Cornelia);
1717 at West Camp for their grandson Henrich, son of Benjamin and Gertraud Rees;
1717 at Claverack for their grandson Hendrick, son of Jonathan Rees; and
1721 at Claverack for their granddaughter Catherine Rees (dau. of Johannes).
Their children include:
1978. Elizabeth Rees. Born ca 1654 in New Amsterdam. Elizabeth was baptized in New Amsterdam Reformed Church, on 25 Oct 1654.188 Lysbeth, daughter of Andries Roos Van der Lipstradt, witnesses Jan de Jonge, Cornelia de Jong, and Hillegonde Joris. Elizabeth died in Oct 1735 in Hackensack, NJ. Buried on 15 Oct 1735 in Hackensack Churchyard, NJ.
On 15 Jan 1673 Elizabeth married Jan Pieterse Van Norden, son of Pieter Mabille Van Norden (Sep 1600-) & Aechie Jans (17 Aug 1629-26 Dec 1689). Born ca 1654. Jan Pieterse was baptized in New Amsterdam Reformed Church, on 4 Oct 1654.188 Jan, son of Pieter Van Naerden, witnesses Hendrick Willemszen & Marritie Claes. Jan Pieterse died on 29 Aug 1733.
Jan and Elizabeth resided in Hackensack, NJ. Their children, all without baptismal records: Andires Jans ca 1678, Adam Janse, Margrita, Willem, and Albert. 1979. Johannes Rees. Born ca 1656 in Lippstadt, Germany or New Amsterdam, NY.96 Johannes was baptized in New Amsterdam Reformed Church, on 26 Apr 1656.188 Johannes, son of Andries Rees Van Lipstadt and Celitje Jans, witnesses Claes Pauluszen and his wife, and David Wesselszen.
The history of Johannes is uncertain. He may have moved to Long Island and resided there. In the “Lists of Inhabitants of Colonial New York”, 1979, by Edmund Bailey O’Callaghan, on p. 66, Town of Huntington for the year 1675, a Johannes Race is listed with one horse. No land or other progerty listed as his estate.96
Johannes married Jacobje Jans.
