2214. Franstje Van Hoesen. Born ca 1640. Franstje was baptized in New Amsterdam Reformed Church, on 30 Sep 1640.188 Fransje, daughter of Jan Franszen Van Huysen, witnesses: Hendrick Rosen, Burger Joris, smidt, and Sara Cornelis. Franstje died bef 1665.

2215. Jurrian Janse Van Hoesen. Born ca 1642. Jurrian Janse died aft 5 May 1711 in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY.

Jurrian came to Albany with his father in about 1645. In 1681 he had a corner house just north of Major Abraham Staats in Albany, but when his father’s land at Claverack was divided, the received that partion extending north along the Kleykuls Kill to a hill called Beeren (Bears) Island.

A “Jurie Jan” was a freeholder in Claverack in 1720.109 Could this be this Jurrian Janse, or was the name reversed and it referred to his son Jan Jurrian?

ca 1665 Jurrian Janse married Katherine [Van Hoesen]. Katherine died aft 1711.

No proof was found of an alleged daughter Catherine of Casper Jacobse Halenbeck, said to have married Jurrian Janse Van Hoesen.240

Annetje Janse married Luykas Gerritsen Wyngaart. Born ca 1642. Luykas Gerritsen died aft 1708.

Lucas and Anna made a joint will at Kinderhook 30 Oct 1708 owning a house and lot both there and in Albany.

2217. Styntje Jans Van Hoesen. Born ca 1645 in Albany, NY. Styntje Jans was baptized in Fort Orange, in 1645. Styntje Jans died aft 1694.

Sytntje, or Christina.

ca 1665 Styntje Jans married Jan Tys Goes, son of Matthys Jansse Goes & Annette Van Breve, in Albany, NY. Born ca 1630. Jan Tys died on 31 May 1705 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY.241

Jan Tys, or Tysse, Goes or Hoes, of Kinderhook, was in Beverwyck in 1661.241

He first married Brechie Maryns, second Styntje Janse Van Hoesen.

Jan Tysz and Styntje Goes were witnesses at the 1687 Albany baptism of Jan, son of Mattys Jansz Goes; also the 1688 Albany baptism of Jacob, son of Jochum Lammertsz.242

Jan was one of the witnesses at the Albany baptism of his nephew Jacob, son of Johannes Van Hoesen and Jannetje Cornelisz.242

Will: Will of John Tyse Goes:

In the name of God, Amen. By the contents of this Publick Instrument be it known, that in the year after the nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 1705, the 14 day of February, before me, Tobias Van Vlecq, residing at Kinderhook, under the Government of the Noble and Rt. Hon. the Lord Cornbury, Governor-General of her Majesty Queen Anne, and before the hereafter named witnesses, Appeared and came Mr. John Tyse Goes, dwelling at the Kinderhook, in the county of New Albany, well known to me, being sick in body, sometimes going and sometimes being down, but in the full exercise of his memory. He makes for his universal heir, his wife, Tryntie Janetie, and his sons, Tys, John and Dirck Goes, and his daughters Teuntie, Anna, Judith, and Maryhe Goes. His eldest son Tys shall have a cow and 40 shillings for his birth right, and he shall also have the small creek, as it belongs to the testator, with his partners Peter Schuyler, and Sybrant Van Schaack. His son Jan Goes, shall have the great piece of land and woodland, and he is to build for his mother a small house and barn to winter as many cows as she has need for, and for a negro to wait on her. And his mother is to have the fourth sheaf of the grain, and the chamber to livein. His son Dirck shall have the land that lies backward, and the place where he now lives, and Jan and Dirck shall have together the great piece of meadow. This is to be appraised at less than its value, because the land spoils by the overflowing of the creek. And after their mother's death they shall pay in proportion to each of the children. His granddaughter Mayhe is to have a cow.

ca 1670 Marya married Hendrick Coenraetse Burghardt. Born say 1645.

Hendrik Coenraetsz van Bonn, of Kinderhook. The surname Burghardt was variously spelled Burghardt, Burchardt, Burgert, Burgaret, Borghaert, etc.

2219. Caterina Jansz Van Hoesen. Born ca 1653 in Albany, NY. Caterina Jansz died ca 1735 in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY.

Caterina was a witness at the 1718 baptism of her granddaughter Anna Caterina Faulkner, daughter of Garritje Hardick.

Caterina Jansz married Francis Hardick. Francis died ca 1742 in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY.

Francis was engaged as an official carter by the colony of New York 4 Apr 1676 (Albany County Court Minutes, 1676-1680, p. 26)

“Frank Hardyke” and “John Hardyck” were freeholders in Claverack in 1720.109

Francis’s will was dated 19 Dec 1737 and proven 3 Nov 1742. From the NY Calendar of Wills 1626-1836, an abstract of the original Dutch: Hardik, Francis, of Claverack, Albany Co., children Jan, Willem, Sarah, wife of Jonathan Rees, children (3) of deceased daughter Gerritie, late wife of Domine Justus Valkenaer. Real and personal estate. Executor son Willem. Witnesses Samuel Ten Broeck, D. W. Ten Broeck, and Evert Bout. Albany Co. Records, Wills, I, p. 206.

A William Hardick and a Volkje Hardick were witnesses at the 1710 Klinkenburg baptism of Gerrit, son of Conradus Burchardus & Jantje. Also, a Jan Hardick and a Volkje Hardic were witnesses at the 1711 Klinkenberg baptism of Eitje, daughter of Jan Borchard & Catharina. Perhaps William, Volkje, and Jan were Francis’s children.

2220. Johannes Van Hoesen. Born ca 1655 in Kinderhook or Claverack, Columbia Co, NY. Johannes died on 28 Oct 1724 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co. NY.

Johannes was a freeholder in Stockport in 1700.

“Johannis Van Hoosem” was a freeholder in Claverack in 1720.109

He had land south of the Hudson-Athens slips as well as the Kinderhook area. In 1705 he was a deacon in the Lutheran Church, and in 1724 he deeded property to his sons. Johannes and his second wife were witnesses at the 1713 baptism of his grandson Johannes, son of Jan and Tanneke Van Hoesen.

ca 1687 Johannes first married Jannetje Jansse Cornelisz de Ryck, daughter of Jan Cornelius de Ryck, in Kinderhook, Columbia Co. NY. Jannetje Jansse Cornelisz died in 1708 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co. NY.

“Jacob Van Hoosem” was a freeholder in Claverack in 1720.

Jacob Janse married Judith Fransz Clauw, daughter of Frans Pieterse Clauw (ca 1623-) & Elsie [Clauw].

Jacob Jansen and Judith were witnesses at the 1714 baptism of their grandson Jurgen, son of Jan Jacobsen and Rachel; also the 1715 baptism of Jacobus, son of Conradus and Goschje Burchardus.

2222. Volkert Van Hoesen. Born ca 1658 in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY. Volkert died on 30 Aug 1725 in Albany, NY.243 Buried in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, Churchyard.

Volkert moved to Loonenburg. He was an ensign in 1700, and an elder with Pastor Justus Falkner in 1707. He inherited Claverack land across the Kleykuls Klll, along the Kalebergh.

Volkert married Maritie Bensing.
