2354. Thomas Wilder. Born ca 1618 in Shiplake, Oxford, Eng. Thomas died on 23 Oct 1667 in Lancaster, MA.

In Apr 1640 Thomas married Anna Eames (4203) , daughter of Lieut. Anthony Eames (1152) (ca 1592-aft 28 Jun 1670) & Margery Pierce (ca Nov 1599-31 Dec 1662), in Charleston, MA. Born ca 1622 in Fordington, St. George, Dorset, Eng. Anna died on 10 Jun 1692 in Lancaster, MA.

2355. Edward Wilder. Born ca 1619 in Shiplake, Oxfordshire. Edward died on 18 Oct 1690 in Hingham, MA.

“Edward, the ancestor of all who have borne this surname in Hingham and vicinity, had his first grant of land here, containing ten acres, the 8th of Oct. 1637, ‘in a place as convenient as can be discovered.’ He subsequently received other grants from the town, including a track situated next to that given to his mother, the wid. Martha Wilder, in 1638, which was located at or near the juctnion of Main and Pleasnat Sts., and inc. the est. now [1893] owned by heirs of Fearing Loring, deceased. He also owned all the land between Tower’s Bridge and Wilder’s Bridge, and without doubt, was one of the earlier planters of this locatlity.”33

Edward was in Hingham, MA, in 1637. He was given a grant of ten acres in Hingham in 1637. After 1642 he purchased the property of Samuel Ward on Main Street, between Hign and Friend Sts., which became his residence.7

ca 1650/1 Edward married Elizabeth Eames (4204) , daughter of Lieut. Anthony Eames (1152) (ca 1592-aft 28 Jun 1670) & Margery Pierce (ca Nov 1599-31 Dec 1662), in Hingham, MA. Born ca 1624 in Fordington, Dorset. Elizabeth was baptized in Fordington, St. George, Dorset, on 13 Jun 1624.12 Elizabeth died on 9 Jun 1692 in Hingham, MA.

Elizabeth, of Hingham.2

On 17 Jan 1638[/9] Elizabeth married Dea. Thomas Ensign (1193) , son of Thomas Ensing (426) (ca 1571-ca 1631) & Constance Pilcher (ca 1575-), in prob. Scituate, MA.3 Born ca 1599 in Rye, Sussex. Thomas was baptized in Rye, Sussex, on 15 Apr 1599. Thomas died bet 16 Jul 1663 and 17 Feb 1663/4 in Scituate, MA. Occupation: yeoman.

From Deane’s History of Scituate:6
“Thomas Ensign purchased the third cliff of Mr Hatherly 1640, also Mr James Cudworth’s house, and five acres adjoining the bridge, on the north, at the Harbour, 1642. He was one of the Conihassett partners, 1646.”

Thomas's estate was probated 9 Jun 1664 in General Court, Plymouth Colony.
Thomas had two daughters named Hannah–one by his first wife Hannah Wiborne, the other by his second wife Elizabeth Wilder.176

2357. Mary Wilder. Born in 1623 in Shiplake, Oxfordshire. Mary died on 13 Dec 1658 in Watertown, MA.

On 16 May 1645 Mary married Joseph Underwood, son of John Underwood (ca Mar 1586-) & Rachel Edwards, in Watertown, MA. Born ca 1614 in London, England. Joseph died on 16 Feb 1676/7 in Hingham, MA.

Joseph was a proprietor of Hingham in 1637, afterwards of Watertown. He was admitted freeman May 1645.11
