2448. Lt. Samuel Allyn. Born on 1 Feb 1643 in Barnstable, MA.8 At the age of 1, Samuel was baptized in Barnstable, MA, on 18 Feb 1644.2 Samuel died in Barnstable, MA, on 25 Nov 1726; he was 83.8 “M^r Samuel Departed this Life on Fyday 25 Nov^r 1726”.

Samuel was representative from 1682 through 1684.2

On 10 May 1664 when Samuel was 21, he married Hannah Walley, daughter of Rev. Thomas Walley (ca 1617-24 Mar 1678), in Barnstable, MA.8 Born in 1645. Hannah died on 23 Oct 1711 in Barnstable, MA.8 “Hannah Allyn y^e Wife of Sam^ll Allyn Sen^r Departed This Life on Tuesday y^e 23 Octo^r 1711 About 10 of y^ Clock in y^e morning”.

2449. John Allyn. Born on 21 Sep 1646 in Barnstable, MA. At the age of 100, John was baptized in Barnstable, MA, on 27 Sep 1746.2 John died in Killingly, CT, on 15 Aug 1715; he was 68.

ca 1673 John married Mary Howland (15256) , daughter of John Howland (5505) (24 Apr 1627-ca 1702) & Mary Lee (6042) (ca 1630-6 May 1693). Born ca 1652 in Marshfield, MA. Mary died aft 3 Aug 1711 in Killingly, CT.

2450. Mehitable Allyn. Born ca 1648 in Barnstable, MA. Mehitable was baptized in Barnstable, MA, on 28 Aug 1648.7

Mehitable first married Samuel Allyn, second Cornelius Briggs.

On 1 Jun 1667 Mehitable first married Samuel Annable (663) , son of Anthony Annable (328) (ca 1595-1674) & Ann Elcock (ca 1608-aft 1674), in Barnstable, MA.8 Born ca 2 Jan 164[5/]6 in Barnstable, MA.3,8 Samuel was baptized in Barnstable, MA, on 8 Feb 1645/6.5 Samuel died in 1678 in Barnstable, MA.6

Samuel lived at West Barnstable and inherited a large portion of his father’s estate, whom he survived only four years.7

On 6 May 1683 Mehitable second married Ens. Cornelius Briggs (2995) , son of Walter Briggs (815) (-ca 1684) & Mary [Briggs] (-aft 1684), in Barnstable, MA.8 Born in 1647 in Scituate, MA.116 Cornelius died on 20 Oct 1694 in Scituate, MA.116 Occupation: boatman.7

Cornelius “was an Ensign in Philip's war, with his two brothers who were his superior officers. "6 He also served in the war against the French and Indians in 1693 as Captain of a company in an ‘Expedition to the Eastward.’7

Capt. Cornelius Briggs was a large landholder in Swanzey and vicinity.7

After his second marriage, Cornelius continued to live for a time in the Russell house in Scituate, where his son James was born, and later removed to Barnstable, where the rest of his children were probably born. He sold the Russell house in 1688 to David Jacob. He was admitted a freeman in Barnstable in 1689. Before 1693 he removed back to Scituate.7
