4403. Lieut. Thomas Bigelow. Born on 24 Oct 1683 in Watertown, MA.11 Thomas died in Waltham, MA, on 6 Oct 1756; he was 72.11
Lieut. Thomas and Mary were dismissed from Watertwon second Church (Waltham) to Marlboro 23 Jun 1723. About 17 years after they moved there, and only a short time before he returned to Watertown. Thomas was selectman of Watertown (before the incorportation of Waltham), five years form 1727 through 1737, then he was selectman of Waltham 1738, 40, and 41; representative in 1738 and 41.11
On 12 Jul 1705 when Thomas was 21, he married Mary Livermore (35581) , daughter of Lieut. John Livermore (29854) (ca 1639-9 Feb 1718/9) & Hannah [Livermore], in Watertown, MA.11 Born on 11 Apr 1684 in Watertown, MA.11 Mary died in Waltham, MA, on 14 Aug 1753; she was 69.11

Mercy, or Martha Bigelow. Thomas and Mercy lived in Watertown a short time and had two children there: Elizabeth 1708, and Eunice 1710. They moved from there to Lunenburg, and were the direct ancestors of President James A. Garfield.178

Daniel was a soldier in the French and Indian War and is said to have been taken prisoner at Fort massachusettsw and carried captive to Canada.178
