John probably embarked from Plymouth, England 20 Mar 1630 on the Mary & John, and arrived at Nantasket, 30 May 1630. He apparently returned to England, married, and had two children before sailing again for New England on 8 May1635 from Weymouth aboard the Hopewell. He settled first at Dorchester, MA, removed to Windsor, CT about 1636, to Taunton by 1638, and to Northampton in 1659 where he was the first Ruling Elder. He had 17 children and 145 grandchildren.

Born ca 1618 in High Ongar, Essex. Richard was baptized in High Ongar, Essex, on 24 Feb 1617. Richard died on 3 Jun 1662 in Windsor, CT.2

John was of Hartford in 1636, removed 1659 or 1660 to Hadley, and about 1664 to Northampton. and had Lydia. By will, 1676, of his brother Joseph at Braintree, Co. Essex, est. was giv. to these ch. and obt. by suit at law, so that I presume he came from that part of Eng.2
