On 24 Nov 1639 Alice married Dea. William Paddy.3 “William Paddy of Plymouth mrchant & Alice ffreeman of Sandwich marryed the xxiiii^th of Novembr 1639”. William died on 28 Aug 1658 in Boston, MA.

William came to New England in 1635 on the James, from Southampton.

4642. Edmund Freeman. Born ca 1620 in England. Edmund was baptized in Billinghurst, Sussex, Eng., on 26 Nov 1620.12 Edmund died on 29 Mar 1673 in Sandwich, MA.

Edmund was deputy to the General Court from Sandwich, 1669, seven years.207

On 22 Apr 1646 Edmund first married Rebecca Prence (10038) , daughter of Gov. Thomas Prence (ca 1600-29 Mar 1673) & Patience Brewster (2965) (ca 1603-late 1634), in Plymouth, MA.3 Born ca 1625 in Plymouth, MA.5 Rebecca died in Mar 1648 in Sandwich, MA.3 Buried on 23 Mar 1648 in Sandwich, MA.3

bef 4 jun 1645 Elizabeth married Lieut. John Ellis in Sandwich, MA.280 John died bef 23 Mar 1676/7 in Sandwich, MA.280

John’s name was on the list of those able to bear arms in 1643 in Sandwich.280

4645. Maj. John Freeman. Born ca 1626 in England. John was baptized in Billinghurst, Sussex, Eng., on 28 Jan 1626/7.12 John died on 28 Oct 1719 in Eastham, MA.207 Buried in Eastham, MA.

“Next in prominence to Thomas Prence of the early settlers of Nausett [Eastham], was his son-in-law, John Freeman. He was the youngest son of Edmund Freeman, the Sandwich settler, adn was born in England. He came over with his father’s family when a lad, in the ship Abigail, Captain Hackwell, in 1635. Upon his marriage with Mercy, Gov. Prence’s daughter by wife Patience Brewster, Feb. 13, 1649-50, he removed from Sandwich to that parat of Nausett called Namskeeket, now within the limits of Orleans”55

John came to New England in 1635 on the ship Abigail and settled in the Orleans part of Eastham, MA; freeman 5 Jun 1651. He was deputy to Colony Court in 1653 and many years thereafter. In 1657 he was an assistant to the Governor and re-elected yearly till the union of the Colonies in 1692. Was one of the first selectmen of Eastham and many years a deacon of the church. Was captain of the militia and in 1685 was appointed Major.

On 14 Feb 1649 John married Mercy Prence (10041) , daughter of Gov. Thomas Prence (ca 1600-29 Mar 1673) & Patience Brewster (2965) (ca 1603-late 1634), in Eastham, MA.3 Born on 4 Jan 1631 in Plymouth, MA.5 Mercy died in Eastham, MA, on 28 Sep 1711; she was 80.55 Buried in Eastham, MA.
