5122. Benjamin Stetson. Born on 16 Feb 1666/7 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 2, Benjamin was baptized on 19 May 1668.2 Benjamin died in 1739.7

Benjamin and Grace resided on Stetson Road, near Church Hill, Scituate (now in Norwell), a fine old mansion known for many years as the ‘old Haskins house.’7

In 1720 Capt. Joseph Barstow and Benjamin Stetson erected a forge and finery near Rocky Run, Hanover, wehre the tack works of E. Phillips & Sons stood later.7

On 22 Jan 1689/90 when Benjamin was 22, he married Grace Turner (7877) , daughter of Thomas Turner (2196) (ca 1627-Nov 1688) & Sarah Hyland (5612) (ca 1634-Nov 1688), in Scituate, MA.85 “Beniamen Stetsun was married to Grace Turner th 22 day of January 1690”. Born in 1665 in Scituate, MA.116 Grace died on 1 Mar 1731/2 in Scituate, MA.

John Cushing also recorded in his account book the marriage: “Ben Studsen & grace mar. 22 January 1689/90”.324

Matthew “died in the wretched expedition of Phip’s [to Canada].”2

5124. James Stetson. Born on 1 May 1670/1 in Scituate, MA.116 James died bef Nov 1714 in Boston, MA.

On 26 Nov 1696 when James was 26, he married Susanna Townsend, daughter of Peter Townsend (26 Oct 1642-14 May 1696) & Lydia Rogers (1 Dec 1648-bef 1678), in Boston, MA. Born on 20 Feb 1669/70 in Boston, MA. Susanna died ca 1740.

Susanna first married James Stetson, second Thomas Andrews.

5125. Samuel Stetson. Born in Oct 1673 in Scituate, MA.116 Samuel was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 11 May 1673.116 Samuel died on 23 Jun 1760 in Hanover, MA.

On 12 May 1719 Samuel married Rebecca Turner, daughter of Thomas Turner (ca 1655-) & Lydia [Turner], in Scituate, MA. Born on 17 Apr 1687 in Scituate, MA.116

On 23 Jun 1697 when Bethia was 22, she married Stephen Andrews, son of Capt. Thomas Andrews (Nov 1632-25 Nov 1690) & Ruth [Andrews] (ca 1635-23 Oct 1732), in Hingham, MA.116 Born on 6 Mar 1672 in Hingham, MA.33

On 24 Apr 1712 when Mary was 34, she married James Partridge, son of George Partridge (ca 1617-bef 10 Oct 1695) & Sarah Tracy (ca Jan 1623-), in Duxbury, MA. Born ca 1657 in Duxbury, MA. James died on 20 Jan 1744 in Duxbury, MA.

5128. Hannah Stetson. Born on 1 Jun 1679 in Scituate, MA.116 Hannah died ca 1749 in Dorchester, MA.

On 5 Jan 1697 when Hannah was 17, she married Timothy Tileston (28047) , son of Timothy Tileston (ca 1636/7-10 Aug 1697) & Sarah Bridgeman (16421) (ca 1643-26 Jun 1712), in Scituate, MA.85 “Timothy Tylestone of Dorchester & Hannah his wife of Sittuate were maried January ye 5th 1697”. Born ca 1664 in Dorchester, MA. Timothy died on 4 Jan 1735/6 in Boston, MA.

ca 1710 Deborah married Samuel Fisher, son of Vigilance Fisher (21 Nov 1654-10 Apr 1713) & Rebecca Partridge (ca 1651-14 Aug 1694). Born on 12 Dec 1681 in Dedham, MA. Samuel died in North Yarmouth, ME, on 24 Nov 1767; he was 85.

5130. Eunice Stetson. Born in Mar 1683/4 in Scituate, MA.116 Eunice was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 27 May 1683.116 Eunice died on 29 Aug 1717 in Scituate, MA.116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR13.

On 18 Mar 1700 Eunice married Dea. John James (19521) , son of John James (ca 1646-shortly before 5 Mar 1678/9) & Lydia Turner (7863) (24 Jan 1653-20 Jun 1714), in Scituate, MA.116 Born on 10 Jan 1676/7 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, John was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 7 Apr 1678.116 John died in Scituate, MA, on 28 Sep 1761; he was 84.325

John succeeded to the James homestead near the ‘block-house’ at the bend of North River (the elbow). He was deacon of the Second Church.7
