Joshua settled in the ministry at Southhold, LI, in Oct 1674.

On 25 Apr 1656 when Joshua was 26, he first married Margaret Vassall (5902) , daughter of William Vassall (ca 1592-1655/1657) & Anna King (1605) (ca 1593-prob. bef. 1655), in St. Michael Parish, Barbados.5 Born ca 1633 in England.5

On 16 Jan 1672 when Joshua was 42, he second married Mary Sunderland, daughter of John Sunderland (ca 1623-26 Dec 1707) & Dorothy [Sunderland]. Born on 12 Mar 1641/2 in Boston, MA. Mary died in Southold, LI, on 19 Apr 1698; she was 56.

Mary first married Jonathan Raynsford, second Joshua Hobart.

Jeremiah was minister at Topsham, MA, at Hampstead, LI, and at Haddam, CT.33

On 6 Apr 1659 when Jeremiah was 29, he married Elizabeth Whiting (8485) , daughter of Rev. Samuel Whiting (2340) (20 Nov 1597-11 Dec 1679) & Elizabeth St.John (3210) (12 Jan 1604-3 Mar 1676/7). Elizabeth died in Hartford, CT.

Josiah was one of the selectmen of Hingham in 1662, 1667, and 1688.33

Note that Henry B. Hoff’s article “A Hobart Puzzle in Massachusetts and Long Island” in New England Ancestors 1 (2000): 23, shows the Boston birth record that states Bethiah, born 5 Oct 1672, daughter of Josiah & Mary Hobart, should read daughter of Joshua & Mary Hobart. Joshua was Josiah’s older brother.

Josiah married Priscilla [Hobart].

5627. Hannah Hobart. Born on 30 Apr 1637 in Hingham, MA.33 Hannah died in Hingham, MA, on 19 May 1637; she was <1.33

5628. Hannah Hobart. Born on 15 May 1638 in Hingham, MA.33 Hannah died in Bristol, MA (now RI), on 11 Sep 1691; she was 53.24

Hannah first married John Brown, son of John Brown. Born ca Sep 1638 in Salem, MA. John died on 29 Aug 1683 in Newbury, MA.

On 27 Jun 1664 when Bathsheba was 23, she first married John Leavitt, son of Dea. John Leavitt (1608-20 Nov 1691) & Mary [Leavitt] (-4 Jul 1646), in Hingham, MA.33 Born ca 1637 in Dorchester, MA. John died bef 1674.

On 19 Nov 1674 when Bathsheba was 34, she second married Dea. Joseph Turner (7861) , son of John Turner Sr. (2194) (ca 1621-aft 20 May 1697) & Mary Brewster (6533) (16 Apr 1627-aft 23 Mar 1698), in Hingham, MA.33 Born on 12 Jan 1649/50 in Scituate, MA.116,3 Joseph died in Scituate, MA, on 13 Feb 1724; he was 74.116 Buried in Second Church Cem., Norwell. Occupation: tanner.

Joseph Turner built his home on the northeast section of 20 acres of his father’s farm.7

Israel “removed to Scit. soon after 1676, when, on Apr. 20th of that yr. his house in Hing. was burned by the Indians.”33

“Israel Hobart, shipwright, son of Rev. Peter Hobart of Hingham, (born 1642, died 1731, aged eighty-nine), came into Scituate 1676. His house at Hingham had been burnt by the Indians in the spring of that year. He settled here on the North river, at the well known place, since called Hobart’s landing. His house stood near the ship-yard: it is remembered by some of our oldest inhabitants, as a spacious mansion, adorned with two carved cherubs over the door.”6

On 30 Dec 1668 when Israel was 26, he married Sarah Witherell (2401) , daughter of Rev. William Witherell (636) (ca 1600-9 Apr 1684) & Mary Fisher (17 Apr 1604-bef 26 Mar 1684), in Hingham, MA.33 Born on 10 Feb 1644 in Scituate, MA.3 Sarah died in 1731.

On 25 May 1664 Jael married Joseph Bradford (805) , son of Gov. William Bradford (353) (ca 1590-9 May 1657) & Alice Carpenter (948) (ca 1590-26 or 27 Mar 1670/1), in Hingham, MA.33 Born ca 1630 in Plymouth, MA.24 Joseph died on 10 Jul 1715 in Plymouth, MA.26 Buried in Burial HIll.

Joseph and Jael resided at Flat House Dock on Jones River, Kingston.131
