5888. Rhoda King. Born on 11 Oct 1639 in Scituate, MA.116,3 Rhoda died ca 1662 in Marshfield, MA.100

John and Rhoda were married by Gov. Endicott of Mass. there being no magistrate in Scitaute authorized to solemnize marriages at that time. He became a Quaker in 1660.6

On 8 Oct 1656 when Rhoda was 16, she married Dea. John Rogers (2009) , son of John Rogers (569) (ca 1595-3 Feb 1661) & Frances [Rogers] (-1687), in Boston, MA.116 Born ca 1631 in England.100 John died on 7 May 1717 [1718] in Marshfield, MA.20 Occupation: yeoman. Religion: Quaker 1660.

John of Scituate.2 John lived for a time at the place of Rawlins and afterward succeeded his father.6

John’s will was dated 9 May 1718, probated 24 Jun 1718.

5890. Dea. Thomas King. Born on 21 Jun 1645 in Scituate, MA.3 At the age of <1, Thomas was baptized on 7 Sep 1645.106 Thomas died in Scituate, MA, on 1 Dec 1711; he was 66.116

“Thomas and Elizabeth resided on the north side of Rotten March, but before 1680 Deacon King purchased Nathaniel Rawlins’ farm at Stony Cove Brook, and built the house now (1936) standing in ruins.”7

Thomas was a deacon of the church since the death of Deacon Thomas Robinson in 1676.7

“Dea. Thomas King’s will, dated 1711, gives ‘to son Daniel the homestead; (of Elder Thomas King, late deceased, on the neck); he allowing daughter Anne to live in the house. To son John a farm in Marshfield. To son George the farm where I now dewll, also a lot adjoining my brother Samuel Clap’s land. To daughter Mercy Winslow 30£. To daughter Anne King 30£. To son Ichabod, &c.’”6

On 20 Apr 1669 when Thomas was 23, he first married Elizabeth Clap (11075) , daughter of Dea. Thomas Clap (3451) (1597-20 Apr 1684), in Scituate, MA.339 Elizabeth died on 18 Mar 1698 in Scituate, MA.116 Born ca 1647.

On 15 Jun 1699 when Thomas was 53, he second married Deborah Hawke (1392) , daughter of Matthew Hawke (458) (1610-11 Dec 1684) & Margaret [Hawke] (-18 Mar 1684), in Scituate, MA.116 Born ca 1651 in Hingham, MA. Deborah was baptized in Hingham, MA, on 22 Mar 1651/2.33 Deborah died on 15 May 1711 in Scituate, MA.116

5891. Daniel King. Born on 4 Feb 1647/8 in Scituate, MA.116,3

According to Deane, Daniel settled in Marshfield.6 But he may have died young.

5892. Sarah King. Born on 24 May 1650 in Scituate, MA.116,3 At the age of <1, Sarah was baptized on 26 May 1650.106 Sarah died in Hingham, MA, on 20 Oct 1716; she was 66.33

In the Bisbee Family,18 and other sources, Sarah is said to have been married to Elisha Bisbee (Hopestill’s brother), rather than Hopestill Bisbee. Sarah’s father, Thomas, bequeathed in 1691 “to my daughter, Sarah Bisbey, the use and improvement of three acres of marsh land, up the river in Marshfield next to the ‘Gravely Beach’ there and so by upland side, during her natuaral live and the life of her husband.” At that time Elisha Bisbee was married to Mary Jacob, so Sarah King could not have been married to Elisha, but could have been married to Hopestill Bisbee.

ca 1680 Sarah first married Hopestill Bisbee (741) , son of Elisha Bisbee (343) (-ca 1689) & Joanna [Bisbee]. Born ca 1645 in Scituate, MA. Hopestill was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 7 Sep 1645.116 Hopestill died on 12 Nov 1695 in Marshfield, MA.58

Hopestill was sworn as constable for Marshfield 5 Jun 1683 [Plym. Col. Rec., 6:107], served as juryman 6 Jul 1686 [Plym. Col. Rec., 6:196-7], and as a grand juryman Apr 1690 [Plym. Col. Rec., 6:237].

On 24 or 27 Feb 1695/6 when Sarah was 45, she second married Joseph Lincoln (6014) , son of Thomas “cooper” Lincoln (-28 Sep 1691) & Annes Lane (1639) (ca 1606-13 or 14 Feb 1682/3), in Hingham, MA.33 Born ca 1640. Joseph was baptized in Hingham, MA, on 20 Nov 1640.33 Joseph died on 18 Mar 1715/6 in Hingham, MA.33

Joseph was a freeman 1670. He resided on the paternal homestead, which he inherited by will, North, near Beal St. His will was dated 5 Mar 1715.33
