5895. Judith Vassall. Born ca 1619 in Cold Norton, Essex.5 Judith died in Apr 1670 in Marshfield, MA. Buried on 3 Apr 1670 in Marshfield, MA.20 “[worn]e wife of Resolved [worn] was buried y^e. 3 of Aprill 1670”. Religion: Judith joined the church in Scituate 14 May 1637.204

On 5 Nov 1640 Judith married Resolved White, son of William White (bef 1590-21 Feb 1620[/1]) & Susanna [White] (-aft 18 Dec 1654), in Scituate, MA.85 Born in 1615 in England or Holland.5 Resolved died in 1680.

“Resolved White, son of William White, came to Plymouth in the Mayflower, with the first company of Pilgrims 1620. He had lands laid out in Scituate 1638, at the place afterward sold to Lieut. Isaac Buck, a half mile south of the Harbour. In 1640 he had a grant, by order of the Colony Court of 100 acres, upland and marsh, on Belle house neck, adjoining Mr. Vassall’s farm on the south-east. He had also other lands adjoining by deed of gift from Mr. Vassall 1646. In 1662 he sold his house to Issac Buck, and removed to Marshfield. He seems to have had two houses, the one near Buck’s corner, and the other at Belle house neck. In Marshfield he settled near his brother Peregrine on the south river.”6

5899. Capt. John Vassall. Born ca 1625.5 John died in 1688 in Jamaica. Occupation: Plantation owner.

John was in the militia of Scituate in 1643, a freeholder in 1647, lieutenant under Cudowrth in 1652, and later captain.204 He moved to the West Indies about 1661. He also helped to found Cape Fear, Chatham, NC.

John, at his death, had seven sons including John, William, Lewis, Samuel, Lenoard, Florentius, and one other.204

John married Anna Lewis.

5900. William Vassall. Born ca 1626/7 in Essex, England. William was baptized in Little Baddow, Essex, on 2 Feb 1626[/7].5

5901. Ann Vassall. Born ca 1628 in Essex, England. Ann was baptized in Little Baddow, Essex, on 20 Apr 1628.5

Ann married Nicholas Ware. Occupation: merchant.

Nicholas, of Virginia. Ann and Nicholas probably settled in the Barbados.204

5902. Margaret Vassall. Born ca 1633 in England.5

On 25 Apr 1656 Margaret married Rev. Joshua Hobart (5622) , son of Rev. Peter Hobart (14963) (ca 1604-20 Jan 1679) & Rebecca Ibrook (1543) (ca 1612-Dec 1645), in St. Michael Parish, Barbados.5 Born on 12 Jul 1629 in England. Joshua died in Southold, LI, on 28 Feb 1717; he was 87. Education: Harvard 1650.

Joshua settled in the ministry at Southhold, LI, in Oct 1674.

5903. Mary Vassall. Born ca 1633 in England.

Mary was living and unmarried in July, 1655.204
