5997. Zaccheus Butts. Born ca 1667.57 Zaccheus died bef 21 Aug 1712.66 Occupation: Millwright.

Check out TAG July 1935, p24. In a footnote it is mentioned that Zaccheus deserted his wife, Sarah, and put their daughter, Mary, in the family of Joseph Palmer “which family were not suitable to bring her up” The court ordered Mary to be put in the family of David Lake, “whose wife is the child's grandmother.”

ca 1690 Zaccheus married Sarah Cornell (10064) , daughter of Thomas Cornell (2974) (ca Oct 1627-23 May 1673) & Sarah Earle (4211) (ca 1647-1690). Born ca 1671 in Portsmouth, RI. Sarah died on 16 Jan 1749.66 Buried in Kickemuit Cemetery, Near Warren, RI.66

5998. Idido Butts. Born ca 1668 in Little Compton, MA (now RI).

Idido, also spelled Hidieo, moved from Little Compton to Connecticut, by one account, and there married and had a large family of children, as it is said.66

Idido married Martha Church.

5999. Moses Butts. Born on 30 Jul 1673 in Dartmouth, MA.322 Moses died in Little Compton, MA (now RI), on 9 Jun 1734; he was 60.224

Moses resided in Little Compton, RI.

ca 1699 Moses married Alice Lake (6002) , daughter of Thomas Lake (1634) (ca 1644-14 Dec 1715/1717) & Sarah [Lake] (ca 1655-1728).224 Born on 6 Dec 1677 in Dartmouth, MA.322 Alice died aft 3 Jul 1739.

Moses and Alice were first cousins, his mother and her father being siblings.

6000. Hepzibah Butts. Born on 30 Jul 1673 in Little Compton, MA (now RI).57 Hepzibah died in Pomfret, CT, on 19 Dec 1722; she was 49.

On 26 Dec 1695 when Hepzibah was 22, she married William Earle (12867) , son of Ralph Earle (4207) (ca 1632-ca 1716) & Dorcas Sprague (ca 1632-aft 1692), in Little Compton, MA (now RI).287,224 They were married by Joseph Church, Justice. Born ca 1672 in Portsmouth, RI. William died in 1715.

William was of Dartmouth when he sold 112 acres to Peleg Slocum in Aug 1693 for £65. He sold more land in 1696 to Robert Havens. He was constable in 1695 and 1696. He moved to Pomfret, CT, and several of his children went to the Beekman Patent.231
