On 4 Nov 1676 when Abigail was 15, she married Henry Josselyn, son of Abraham Josselyn (ca 1619-bef 7 Apr 1670) & Beatrice Hampson (15 Jul 1623-11 Jan 1711), in Scituate, MA.85 Born ca 1652 in Scarborough (then Black Point), ME.104 Henry died on 30 Oct 1730 in Hanover, MA.104

“Henry Josselyn came into Scituate 1669, and family tradition asserts, from Black point, now Scarboro [Maine]: he is therefore supposed to have been the son of Henry Josselyn, who had been an important man in the government of Georgiana, and nephew of ‘John Jossely, Gentleman,’ the author of ‘New England’s Rarities,’ and other books. His residence was in the field fifty rods east of Judge William Cushing’s farm house”6

Charles was one of the first selectmen of the new town of Hanover, set off from Scituate in 1727.2

On 24 Dec 1689 when Charles was 26, he first married Abigail Tilden (20138) , daughter of Stephen Tilden (14240) (ca Oct 1629-22 Aug 1711) & Hannah Little (8336) (ca 1641-13 May 1710), in Scituate, MA.324 “Charls stock[bridge] and abigall maried 24 decm. 1689”. Born on 11 Jul 1666 in Scituate, MA.116 Abigail died ca 1710 in Scituate, MA.104

Anna died aft 27 Mar 1754.104 Education: Anna was admitted to full communion, 4 Sept 1715, Second Church of Scituate.

Anna was appointed guardian of her children, Joseph, Anna, and Benjamin Smith, after the death of her first husband, Joseph Smith.327

Jacob Turner’s genealogy of the Turners shows that Israel and Sarah Turner had a son Seth, but no other record of him can be found.104

Sarah first married Israel Turner (5732) , son of John "young son" Turner (2195) (ca 1624-bef 8 Jun 1687) & Anne James (1561) (ca 1629-bef 1687). Born on 14 Feb 1654 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 11, Israel was baptized in Scituate, MA, on 25 Nov 1665.75 Israel died bef 8 Aug 1689.104

On 26 Dec 1693 when Sarah was 28, she second married Thomas Pinson (19024) , son of Thomas Pinson (7595) (15 May 1640-3 Jun 1714) & Elizabeth White (8480) (ca 1642-), in Scituate, MA.3,85 Born on 2 Jan 1665 in Scituate, MA.116 Thomas died ca 1733 in Scituate, MA.

“Thomas settled at the mill on the 3d. Herring brook: he left but one son, Thomas born 1702. His grandson Stephen deceased on the same place 1800.”6

Joslyn104 says that the two sons shown in Davis’s Ancient Landmarks of Plymouth do not seem to be David and Elizabeth’s; no children were named in David’s will.

Elizabeth married David Turner (5738) , son of John "young son" Turner (2195) (ca 1624-bef 8 Jun 1687) & Anne James (1561) (ca 1629-bef 1687). Born on 5 Nov 1670 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 2, David was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 20 Apr 1673.116 David died in Scituate, MA, on 3 May 1698; he was 27.116 Buried in First Parish Cem., Scituate Harbor.

Deane thought that David did not marry.6

7622. Dea. Joseph Stockbridge. Born on 28 Jun 1672 in Scituate, MA.116 Joseph died in Hanover, MA, on 11 Mar 1773; he was 100.292 “Deacon Joseph Stockbridge Departed this Life the 11th day of march 1773. Being one Hundred years Eight months & Two days old”.

Joseph and Margaret removed to Duxbury, now Pembroke, where his lands were situated. He lived to more than 100 years of age.6

The Hanover records remark on his decease “Being one Hundred years Eight months & Two days old.”292

Joseph and Margaret removed to Hanover, and settled first near Barstow’s bridge on the site of the E. Q. Sylvester house. Somewhat later they removed to the Pembroke side of Indian Head River beyond Luddam’s Ford, where Haviland Torrey later resided.7

The First Congregational Church of Hanover was formally organized on 5 Dec 1728 with Benjamin Bass as minister elect. Rev. Bass served for 28 years (1728-1756). Joseph Stockbridge and Elijah Cushing were the first deacons. There ten members including Joseph Stockbridge, Isaac Buck, Elijah Cushing, Joseph Stockbridge Jr., Hames Hatch, Thomas Josselyn, John Taylor, Amasa Turner, Samuel Staples, and Samuel Skiff.

On 20 Oct 1697 when Joseph was 25, he married Margaret Turner (15445) , daughter of Dea. Joseph Turner (7861) (12 Jan 1649/50-13 Feb 1724) & Bathsheba Hobart (5629) (28 Sep 1640-14 Apr 1724), in Scituate, MA.116 Born on 20 Sep 1677 in Scituate, MA.116 Margaret died in Hanover, MA, on 17 Oct 1732; she was 55.292

Benjamin succeeded to the old Stockbridge mansion and mills, by purchase, in part, of his brother Samuel.6

On 23 Jul 1701 when Benjamin was 23, he married Mercy Tilden (20142) , daughter of Stephen Tilden (14240) (ca Oct 1629-22 Aug 1711) & Hannah Little (8336) (ca 1641-13 May 1710), in Scituate, MA.85 “23 July 1701 Benjamin Stockbridge and marcy Tilden both of Scittuate ware maried”. Born on 1 May 1674 in Scituate, MA.3 Mercy died on Jan/Feb 1743/4; she was 68.104

Samuel and Lydia settled at Mount Blue.6

On 5 Aug 1703 when Samuel was 24, he married Lydia Barrell (19524) , daughter of William Barrell (ca 1654-7 Nov 1689) & Lydia Turner (7863) (24 Jan 1653-20 Jun 1714), in Scituate, MA.85 Born on 25 May 1684 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of <1, Lydia was baptized on 29 Mar 1685.135 Lydia died in 1767/8.104
