7627. Thomas Hyland. Born on 25 Jan 1662/3 in Scituate, MA.116 Thomas died in 1690.2

Thomas died in the wild expedition of Sir William Phips, 1690.2

7628. Elizabeth Hyland. Born on 15 Aug 1665 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of <1, Elizabeth was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 24 Sep 1665.116

Although it has been claimed that Elizabeth married in 1686 John Merritt (son of John), it was apparently Elizabeth Pinson who married John. See Maclean W. McLean’s article “The Daughters of Thomas Pinson (1640-1714), The American Genealogist 50 (1974), 98-99.

7629. Mary Hyland. Born on 15 May 1667 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, Mary was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 21 Jun 1668.116 Mary died in Scituate, MA, on 5 Nov 1729; she was 62.116 Buried in First Parish Cem., Scituate Harbor.

On 6 Apr 1695 when Mary was 27, she married Col. Amos Turner Esq. (7871) , son of John Turner Sr. (2194) (ca 1621-aft 20 May 1697) & Mary Brewster (6533) (16 Apr 1627-aft 23 Mar 1698), in Scituate, MA.85 “Amos Turner & mary hiland his wife were maried the 6th day of Aprill 1695 Recroded at the Request of Amos Turner in or about the year of our lord 1707”. Born ca 1671 in Scituate, MA. Amos was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 4 Jun 1671.116 Amos died on 13 Apr 1739 in Scituate, MA.116 Buried in First Parish Cem., Scituate Harbor.

Major Amos lived fifty rods north of Stockbridge’s mill and Mansion.6

Amos resided in the Country Way near the Tan Brook on the western side of the way, nearly opposite to the residence of his uncle, John Turner, Jr. ‘young son John.’7 Amos was a representative to the General Court, 1726-8 and 1732.207

7630. John Hyland. Born on 17 Mar 1670/1 in Scituate, MA.116 John died in Scituate, MA, on 5 Nov 1729; he was 59.

On 8 Jan 1694/5 when John was 23, he married Elizabeth James, daughter of William James (ca 1641-ca 1722/3) & Mehitabel [James], in Scituate, MA.85 Born ca Jul 1673 in Scituate, MA.365 Elizabeth died aft 8 Dec 1748.365
