7977. Jan Jannessen Van Hoesen. Born ca 1687 in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY. Jan Jannessen died in 1745.

Jan, of Claverack. He replaced his deceased brother Gerrit on the Loonenburg Lutheran Church Council in 1739, and was himself succeeded by his brother Jacob in 1745. pastor Berkenmeyer named him as a trustee to care for his gravesite in the disputed little flat.

On 12 Mar 1711 Jan Jannessen married Danike Witbeck, daughter of Hendrick Jansz Witbeck (ca 1667-) & Lyntje Winne (say 1671-), in Anthens, Greene Co., NY. Born in 1693. Danike was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 24 Dec 1693.242 Tanneke, of Hendrik Jansz & Lyntje Winnen, witnesses Marten Cornelisz & Tanneke Martensz.

Jan Hannessen and Danike were witnesses at the 1721 baptism of Wilhelm, son of Benjamin and Gertruyd Rees; also the 1742 baptism of their grandson Jan, son of Hendryk and Anna Catharina Van Hoesen.

7978. Gerrit Van Hoesen. Born ca 1691. Gerrit was baptized in Kingston Church, Kingston, on 27 Sep 1691. Gerrit died in 1739 in Anthens, Greene Co., NY.

Gerrit and Marytje lived 1736 on the strand at Claverack. With Jacob Halenbek and Arend Van Schaayk, he was one of the Loonenburg trustees receiveing the chruch land from the Van Loon family. He was a member of the Church Council from 1732 until his death and was succeeded by his brother Jan Hannesse Van Hoesen. His widow married Frans Jacobse Van Hoesen.

Berhard and Marytje were witnesses at several baptisms: 1721 for Peturs, son of Jan Hannesen and Danike Van Husum; 1726 for their neice Jannetje, daughter of Jacob and Gertruyd Van Hoesen; 1728 for Jacob, son of Willem and Anna Catharina Hardick; 1729 for Maria, daughter of Conrad and Maria Barbel Keller; and 1740 for their nephew Gerrit, son of Jacob and Gertruyd Van Hoesen..

ca 1719 Gerrit married Marytje Van de Kar, daughter of Arent Van de Kar & Charlotte [Van de Kar].

Marytje married Gerrit Van Hoesen first, then Frans Van Hoesen, Gerrit’s first cousin.

On 29 Feb 1708 Harmen married Gessie Kormen in Athens, Greene Co, NY. Born in Manhattan, NY. Gessie died in 1746 in Albany, NY.

7980. Jurrian Van Hoesen. Born ca 1693. Jurrian was baptized in Kingston, Ulster Co., NY, on 15 Aug 1693.

7981. Marytje Van Hoesen. Born ca 1695. Marytje was baptized in Kingston, Ulster Co., NY, on 13 Oct 1695.

7982. Johannes Van Hoesen. Born ca 1697. Johannes was baptized in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY, on 1 Aug 1697. Johannes died in 1763 in Anson Co., NC.

In the spring of 1728 Johannes and his wife, Elizabeth Christina Laux, and their three children, along with other Germans, migrated to Tulpehocken Creek, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, and settled in the vicinity of what is now called Robesonia. On the 5th of April 1753, he sold his land to John Joseph Derr and Henry Boyer and, at the age of 56, moved to North Carolina and settled in Anson County.

In the name of God Amen, I JOHN VANHOOSER of Anson County in the Province of North Carolina, do make this my last Will and Testament. First of all I desire that all my lawful debts be payed & I commit my body to the dust & commend my soul to God. Item. I give unto my son JOHN four pounds & an equal part of all my estate after my death & my wife's. Item. I give unto my daughter YONKEY an equal part of all my Estate after my deceas(e) & my wife's and half of the same to be Equally divided among her three oldest children. Item. I give unto my son VALENTINE an equal part of [ny estate after my deceas(e) and my wife's. Item. I give unto my daughter CATHARINE an Equal part of my estate after my deceas(e) and my wife's. Item. I give unto my daughter MARY an Equal part of all my Estate after my wife's. Item. I give unto my son ABRAM one hundred & fifty acres of land the lower part of the tract of land that I live on. Only he is to give ten pounds to my Estate to be Equally divided & an Equal part of all my Estate after my deceas(e) & my wife's. On 11 Apr 1720 Johannes second married Elizabeth Christina Laux, daughter of Johan Valentin Laux (ca 1659-) & Anna Catharina Ruhl, in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY. Born ca 1700 in Wallau, Hesse-Darmstadt. Elizabeth Christina died ca 31 Jan 1762 in Anson Co., NC.

7983. Jacob Van Hoesen. Born in 1699. Jacob was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 8 Jan 1699.242 Jacob, of Johannes V. Hoesen & Jannetje Cornelisz, witnesses Jan Tysz [uncle] & Geesje Coenraadt. Jacob died bef 1701.

7984. Jacob Hannesen Van Hoesen. Born ca 1701. Jacob Hannesen was baptized in Kinderhook, NY, on 5 Jan 1701.242 Jacob, of Johannes & Jannetje Van Hoesen, witnesses Isaac & Antje Vosburg, recorded at Albany. Jacob Hannesen died in 1788.

Jacob succeeded in 1745 his brother Jan as Lutheran church trustee at Loonenburg.

Jacob and Gertruyd were witnesses at several baptisms: 1726 for their neice Maria, daughter of Gerrit and Marytje Van Hoesen; 1728 for their nephew Benjamin, son of Jan Hannes and Tanneke Van Hoesen; and 1730 for Jan, son of Willem and Anna Catharina Hardik.

Abstract of will (in Dutch): Jacob Van Hoesen of Claverack, dated 17 Apr, probated 9 Jul 1788, mentions sons Petrus & Abraham. Executors: sons Petrus & Abraham, and friend Stephanis Van Dyek. Witnesses: Hannes Plasss, Jacob Bont Jr., & Koenraat Plas.358

On 28 Apr 1725 Jacob Hannesen married Gertrude Janse Albertsen, daughter of Jan Albertsen & Geesje Roelfsen. Gertrude Janse was baptized in Kingston, Ulster Co., NY, on 18 Feb 1700.

7987. Maria Van Hoesen. Born in 1705. Maria was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 7 Jan 1705.242 Maria, dau. of Johannes Van Hoesen & Jannetje Jansse De Ryk, witnesses Kirk & Fytje Van der Kar.

On 1 Apr 1724 Maria married John Dunbar in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.242 With licence, John Dunbaarr and Maria Van Hoesen.
