8083. Cornelis Van Vorst. Born on 8 Mar 1700 in Ahasymus, NJ.¹²⁹ At the age of <1, Cornelis was baptized in Bergen Dutch Reformed Church, on 2 Apr 1700.¹²⁹ Cornelis, eighth child and sixth son of Cornelis van Voorst & Feytje Gerrits, witnesses Aeltje Gerrits & Jo. Gerrits y.m. Cornelis died in Bergen, NJ, on 5 Dec 1760; he was 60.

Cornelis may have two baptismal records, first on 2 Apr 1699 as the 8th child & 6th son with witnesses, and second on 7 May 1702¹²⁹ as the unnamed 8th child & 6th son with no witnesses. The next child, Jacob, was baptized 7 Jul 1702. Perhaps his parents couldn’t bring him for the first baptism for some reason even though it was recorded (there were three other baptisms that day), so baptized him later.

In 1726 Cornelis married Clasje De Mott (9682) , daughter of Matthys Michaels De Mott (ca 1680-18 Mar 1756) & Margrietje Hendrickse Brinckerhoff (2834) (13 Jun 1681-12 Dec 1754), in Bergen Dutch Reformed Church.¹⁸⁹ Cornelis Van Vorst, y.m., born and living at Ahasemis & Claasje De Moth, y.d., born and linving at Bergen. Born ca 1706 in Bergen, NJ. Clasje was baptized in Bergen Dutch Reformed Church, on 24 May 1706.¹²⁹ A daughter, the first child of Matys de Mot & Margrietje Hendricks, no witnesses. Clasje died in Mar 1788. Buried on 6 Mar 1788 in Bergen, NJ.
