9005. Desire Otis. Born on 8 Dec 1714 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 2, Desire was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 9 Jun 1717.116 Desire died in Scituate, MA, on 20 Apr 1722; she was 7.116

9006. Hannah Otis. Born ca 1722 in Scituate, MA. Hannah was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 16 Apr 1722.116 Hannah died on 19 Apr 1722 in Scituate, MA.116

9007. Ensign Otis. Born on 25 Apr 1723 in Scituate, MA.116

9008. John Otis. Born on 11 Apr 1725 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, John was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 17 Jul 1726.116

John inherited the Ensign property from his father, and lived in the Ensign house. He later built the house on the north corner of Front and Otis streets at the Harbor, where his son Ensign afterwards lived.7

On 1 Dec 1746 (int) when John was 21, he married Jane Turner (30232) , daughter of Amos Turner (19121) (16 Nov 1695-bet 1730 and 1740) & Elizabeth Stockbridge (19107) (19 Aug 1702-), in Scituate, MA.116 Born ca 1727. Jane was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 29 Dec 1727.116

On 28 Nov 1749 when Desire was 20, she married Nathaniel Chittenden (37028) , son of Israel Chittenden (34061) (16 Jul 1690-) & Mary Pickles, in First Parish Church, Scituate.116 Born on 17 Apr 1724 in Scituate, MA.116 116

9011. Mary Otis. Born on 15 Jul 1729 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of <1, Mary was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 4 Oct 1727 [1729?].116 Mary died in Scituate, MA, on 16 Jul 1729; she was <1.116

9012. Ignatius Otis. Born on 2 Feb 1731 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, Ignatius was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 30 Jul 1732.116 Ignatius died in Scituate, MA, on 21 Jan 1802; he was 70.116 Buried in South Parish Cem. Norwell.

The residence of Ignatius and Thankful was near Halifax Hill [now Otis hill] in Scituate. He was a warm whig, and took an active part in the Revolution; thereby losing his property and his reason. He remained insane until his death. He ws one of the members of the Committee of Inspection of Scituate during the Revolution.223

Ignatius was an ardent Whig and very active in the Revolutionary cause.7

Ignatius married Thankful Otis (33568) , daughter of Job Otis (25768) (28 Mar 1702-aft 24 May 1760) & Thankful Otis (25220) (ca 1702-4 Aug 1739). Born on 15 Jul 1735 in Hanover, MA.292 Thankful died in Scituate, MA, on 21 May 1826; she was 90.

Ignatius and Thankful were first cousins since Ignatius’s father, Ensign, and Thankful’s mother, Thankful Otis, were both children of Stephen Otis; but they were also second cousins since Thankful’s father, Job was a nephew of Stephen.

Children of Ignatius and Thankful, born in Scituate: Amos 1758, Oliver bp 1760, Fanny bp 1763 (d. umarried 1834), Mary bp 1767, Oliver bp 1768, Deborah bp 1770, Lydia bp 1772, and Job bp 1779.116

9013. Capt. Noah Otis. Born ca 1734 in Scituate, MA. Noah was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 30 Jun 1734.116 Noah died on 22 Dec 1798 in Scituate, MA.116 Buried in Union Street Cem., Scituate Centre. Occupation: hatter.

Noah was one of the Committee of Correspondence and of Inspection of Scituate during the Revolution, and had command of a body of men who kept guard day and night. He served as private in Capt. Wm. Barker’s Co.; this regiment ws ordered to march on an alarm to Bristol, RI.223

Noah and Phoebe resided at the Harbor Village.7

On 1 May 1766 Noah married Phebe Cushing (24273) , daughter of Col. Ezekiel Cushing (12025) (27 Apr 1698-7 May 1765) & Hannah Doane (12627) (1 Dec 1703-7 Jun 1742), in Scituate, MA.85 Born on 15 Apr 1738 in Provincetown, MA.48 Phebe died in Scituate, MA, on 30 Mar 1805; she was 66.116 Buried in Union Street Cem., Scituate Centre.

Amos died without issue.223
