William married Sarah in a double marriage with his brother Benjamin, who married Sarah’s sister Mercy. William’s estate was settled in 1734. HIs widow Sarah is names, and Hannah, wife of William Ford, a daughter Sarah, and an only son William.

On 20 Dec 1709 when William was 25, he married Sarah Randall (10976) , daughter of Joseph Randall (3412) (Mar 1642-21 Feb 1722/3) & Hannah Macomber (1652-23 Aug 1714), in the Second Church of Scituate.116 Born on 16 Sep 1680 in Scituate, MA.116

Sarah and her sister Mercy were married on the same day to William and Benjamin Barstow, respectively.

Benjamin married Mercy Randall in a double marriage with his brother William, who married Mercy’s sister Sarah.

From the History of Hanover:162
    “Mr. B. occupied his father's house, being that of his gr. fa. Wm., and seems to have followed their trade, being a shipwright, and having his yard near the N. River Bridge. (See the chap. on Shipbuilding.) Tradition says that he had 21 ch. in all. From a diligent search of the Town and Church Records, of Scit., Pemb., and Hanover, I [Barry] find the 19. The other 2 prob. d. young.”

On 20 Dec 1709 when Benjamin was 19, he first married Mercy Randall (10978) , daughter of Joseph Randall (3412) (Mar 1642-21 Feb 1722/3) & Hannah Macomber (1652-23 Aug 1714), in the Second Church of Scituate.116 Born on 10 Mar 1685 in Scituate, MA.116 Mercy died in Hanover, MA, on 17 Dec 1728; she was 43.162
