On 18 Dec 1731 (int) when Benjamin was 26, he first married Zeresh Stetson (23598) , daughter of Elisha Stetson (19052) (Mar 1684/5-11 Feb 1755) & Abigail Brewster (11276) (Mar 1682-6 May 1761), in Kingston, MA.134 Born on 29 Nov 1712 in Duxbury, MA.291 At the age of 8, Zeresh was baptized in Kingston, MA CR1, on 19 Mar 1721.134 Zeresh died in Kingston, MA, on 6 Apr 1763; she was 50.134 Buried in Old Burying Bround, First Church, Kingston.

Zeresh, or Zeriah, Stetson. Benjamin and Zeresh were second cousins once removed. Zaresh’s grandfather, Wrestling Brewster was the brother of Benjamin’s great grandmother Sarah Brewster. Five of Benjamin and Zeresh’s children died of throat distemper. Only Lydia lived to her majority.

9964. Joshua Bradford. Born on 23 Jun 1710 in Plymouth, MA.131 Joshua died in Meducook (Friendship), ME, on 27 May 1756/8; he was 45.131 Occupation: farmer.

Joshua and Hanna resided in Friendship, ME. According to Ruth Gardner Hall131: “Both scalped by the Indians. Two sons (possibly Benjamin and Joshua) taken into captivity. Other children at the fort. Joshua grinding corn did not hear the warning shot. Did not fear local Indians because he had saved the life of the chief when he was drowning—having fallen through the ice. Meletiah hid under bed with Elisha. When Elisha cried, she crept out and dashed toward the fort. Indians leaving, saw her and started in pursuit. One gave her an ugly wound—supposed to have severed two lower ribs from spine. A soldier from the fort rescued her. Some claim 10 children, some 11. If 11 children, Joshua, his wife and son Winslow d in 1758 k by the Indians; if 10 children d in 1756.”

On 17 Feb 1736 when Joshua was 25, he married Hannah Bradford (9987) , daughter of Elisha Bradford (2954) (ca 1669-16 Jun 1747) & Bathsheba Brock (20673) (21 May 1703-), in Kingston, MA.134 Born on 10 Apr 1719/20 in Plymouth, MA.131 Hannah died in Meducook (Friendship), ME, on 27 May 1756/8; she was 37.131

Joshua and Hannah were second cousins. Their paternal grandfathers were brothers.
