On 23 Jul 1735 when Elizabeth was 21, she married Joseph Copeland (35041) , son of William Copeland (15 Nov 1656-30 Oct 1716) & Mary Bass (28467) (11 Feb 1669-10 Apr 1725), in the Second Church of Scituate.116,85 Born on 18 May 1706 in Braintree, MA. At the age of <1, Joseph was baptized on 15 Jun 1706. Joseph died on 26 Jan 1793; he was 86.

“Joseph Copeland came into Scituate from Bridgewater, 1730, a descendant of Lawrence Copeland, an early settler in Braintree.”6

Joseph came from Bridgewater to Scituate in 1730. He succeeded to Captain Tolman’s residence on Stetson Road, where he continued the tannery of his father-in-law.7
