Born on 12 Aug 1679 in Portsmouth, RI.269 Preserved died in Portsmouth, RI, on 15 Jul 1744; he was 64.

On 25 May 1709 when John was 23, he married Alice Southworth (11312) , daughter of William Southworth (3541) (ca 1659-25 Jun 1719) & Rebecca Pabodie (6746) (16 Oct 1660-3 Dec 1702), in Little Compton, MA (now RI).224 They were married by Richard Billings, Justice. Born on 14 Jul 1688 in Little Compton, MA (now RI).224 Alice died in Little Compton, RI, on 25 Apr 1770; she was 81.224
