Briggs7 says Hannah was the daughter of Rev. Nehemiah Cushing.

On 25 Dec 1706 when Hannah was 19, she married Capt. Samuel Williams Barker (2510) , son of John Barker Esq. (2575) (ca 1650-1 Dec 1729) & Desire Annable (665) (Oct 1653-24 Jul 1706), in Scituate, MA.116 Born on 23 Apr 1686 in Marshfield, MA.20 Samuel Williams died in Scituate, MA, on 6 Aug 1754; he was 68.116 Buried in Union Street Cemetery, Scituate Harbor.

From the Barker Genealogy:120
    "Samuel Williams at the age of eight inherited the Barker homestead at Scituate, Mass. This house was built by John Williams, father in law of Robert and John Barker, as early as 1634 and was for a time used as a garrison-house, as appears from its massive inner walls of brick pierced with loopholes. The place remained in the Barker family for six or seven generations, the house being in a good state of preservation, though the interior has been modernized. It stands upon high ground with an extensive view of the harbor and sea, about 1920 it became the Hatherly Inn."

12023. Ignatius Cushing. Born on 22 Sep 1689 in Scituate, MA.116 Ignatius died in Halifax, MA, on 2 Feb 1767; he was 77.

There is a deed of sale of a house in Plymouth which Ignatius had just built in 1720. He then removed to Plympton, where he lived for a number of years. When Halifax, MA, was incorporated in 1734, Ignatius Cushing was the first Town Clerk. He is mentioned in his brother Ezekiel’s will as having at one time lived on Long Island, Portland Harbor, ME.48

On 4 Apr 1710 when Ignatius was 20, he first married Mary Rickard in Plymouth, MA.48 Born ca 1690. Mary died ca 1719 in Plymouth, MA.

Jeremiah and Mary resided in Provincetown, MA. Jeremiah engaged in the fishing and whaling industry there with his brother Ezekiel. He remained in Provincetown.48 7

12025. Col. Ezekiel Cushing. Born on 27 Apr 1698 in Scituate, MA.116 Ezekiel died in Falmouth, MA, on 7 May 1765; he was 67.48 Occupation: merchant.

From The Genealogy of the Cushing Family:48
    Ezekiel “lived in Provincetown until 1738, after which he removed to Cape Elizabeth (then Falmouth), Me. He was coroner in 1727 and 1729. The house in which he lived at Cushing’s Point, now in South Portland, was still standing in 1760. He owned Cushing’s Island in Portland Harbor, and sold it to Joshua Bangs, 14 Sep 1760, by whose name is was known until 1859, when it was purchased by Lemuel Cushing, of Montreal, Can., who gave it its present name. He also owned the greater part of Long Island with Marsh and Overset Islands in Portland Harbor, and he bequeathed them in his will to his children. He was a merchant and was extensively engaged in the fisheries and the West India trade, owning many schooners and sloops. His large mercantile establishment was on the point bearing his name, a few rods east of the breakwater and at the western extremity of the sandy cove west of Fort Preble. It is authoritatively stated that during his time, there was more commercial business carried on the Cape Elizabeth shore than on the Falmouth side. He was active and prominent in the affairs of the settlement, and became one of the most respected as well as distinguished men in Portland neighborhood. He commanded the regiment of the county, then the highest office in Maine, and in 1757 ws able to furnish 50 men from his regiment to defend the inhabitants form the Indians and afterwards provide 100 to protect the Commissioners when arranging terms of peace with them. He was selectman of the town nine years, and justice of the peace 1756, 1760, and 176; Justice of the Court of Common Pleas 1760 to 1763, and filled other important offices. Gov. Shirley dined at Col. Cushing’s 23 Jul 1754. He took a prominent part in the religious dissensions which broke out in the Church there, and in 1756 was a leader of the opposition to the installation of the Rev. Ephraim Clark over the Church. After the installation he was set off to the first parish where he afterwards attended, though just previous to his death he petitioned the General Court and was restored to his own precinct.”

    About 1719 Ezekiel went to Provincetown with his brother Jeremiah, where they engaged in the fishing and whaling industry. Ezekiel was Commander of teh County Regimetn at that time, the highest office in Maine, and in 1757 was able to furnish 50 men from his regiment to defend the inhabitants against the Indians, and one hundred to protect the Commissioners while there were arranging the terms of peace.7

On 5 Nov 1719 when Ezekiel was 21, he first married Hannah Doane (12627) , daughter of Eld. Hezekiah Doane (4160) (last week of Aug 1672-1752) & Hannah Snow (7526) (26 Aug 1670-1717), in Truro, MA.284 Ezekiel CUSHING and Hannah DOANE both of Cape Codd were married at Cape Codd ye 5th of November 1719 by Mr. John Avery pastor of the church in Truroe. Born on 1 Dec 1703 in Provincetown, MA.48 Hannah died in Falmouth (South Portland), ME, on 7 Jun 1742; she was 38.48 Buried in Cape Elizabeth burying ground.

Mary, widow of Jacob Parker of Boston.
