Edward’s ordination: 20 Apr 1748 at Hartford.

His monument had the following inscription: "Here lies interred the body of the Reverend Edward Dorr, the late Learned and Pious Pastor of the first Church of Christ in Hartford, who departed this life Oct. 20th Anno Dommini 1772 in the 50th year of his age and 25th of his ministry. And Jesus said I am the Resurrection and the life.”

Edward married Helena Talcott (33895) , daughter of Gov. Joseph Talcott (16 Nov 1669-11 Oct 1741) & Eunice Howell (25957) (18 Aug 1678-25 May 1735). Born on 13 Mar 1720. Helena died in Hartford, CT, on 9 Jul 1797; she was 77.
