John moved from Durham to Wallingford, Meridan, then to New Cambridge (now Bristol). He was a congregationalist while in Bristol, but became Episcopalian.
    Agreement of the heirs of John Kickox on 3 Sep or 26 Aug 1765 was signed by Mary, the widow, and the children. Will in Woodbury.70

Gideon was a member of the committee of 1777 for Waterbury to purchase supplies in the Revolution. He was in the Fort William Henry alarm in Aug 1757 in Capt. Ebenezer Down’s company.70

On 13 Aug 1734 when Gideon was 28, he married Sarah Upson (19682) , daughter of Capt. Stephen Upson (7935) (30 Sep 1686-10 Sep 1777) & Sarah Bronson (15 Nov 1691-1748).16 Born on 26 Jul 1715 in Waterbury, CT.70 Sarah died in Waterbury, CT, on 19 Jan 1809; she was 93. Buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Waterbury.

I John Platt of Norwalk in the County of Fairfield and Colony of Connecticut, being weak in Body but of sound mind & memory (blessed be God) do this 22d Day of December Anno Domini 1770, make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following. Viz. Imprimis. I give and bequeath unto my well-beloved Wife Sarah all my household furniture that is in my house.”
