15249. Lieut. Col. John Gorham. Born on 20 Feb 1651/2 in Marshfield, MA.3 At the age of 2, John was baptized on 1 May 1653.223 John died in Barnstable, MA, on 11 Nov 1716; he was 65.8 Buried in Cobb's Hill Cemetery, Barnstable.

John Gorham, or Gowin, of Barnstable. He commanded most of the expeditions of the ‘Whaleboat fleet’ which was of such material assistance in the French and Indian War from 1689-1704, and made a brilliant record as a soldier. John and Mary had five sons and four daughters.223
