Deane6 mistakes this Joseph Lewis for the son of George and says, “Joseph married Mary Jones 1671, and had children, Joseph born 1672, Sybil 1674. The next year he was killed at Swansey by the Indians. Hon. James Lewis of Pepperell, Massachusetts, descended from this branch of the family.”
