17679. Abigail Phelps. Born on 18 Apr 1721 in Hebron, CT.286 Abigail died in Stockbridge, MA, on 14 Mar 1804; she was 82.

Abigail did not have any children by her third marriage. After being widowed three times, she spent her last years with her daughter Abigail in Stockbridge, MA.229

On 11 Jan 1742 when Abigail was 20, she first married Timothy Bartholomew (22021) , son of Andrew Bartholomew (34184) (ca 1670-ca 1755) & Hannah Frisbie (9834) (18 Jan 1681-2 Dec 1741), in Wallingford, CT.31 Born on 28 Feb 1716 in Branford, CT.201 Timothy died in Wallingford, CT, on 27 Apr 1749; he was 33.31

In May 1750 Abigail second married Jonathan Tarbox, son of Godfrey Tarbox (ca 1696-29 Dec 1768) & Hannah Laighton (26 Oct 1694-9 May 1774), in Hebron, CT.286 Born on 24 Aug 1724 in Lynn, MA. Jonathan died ca 1754 in Columbia Co., NY.

Abigail third married John Allen.

17680. Alexander Phelps. Born on 6 Jan 1723/4 in Hebron, CT.286 Alexander died ca 1772 in Lyme, NH.229 Occupation: lawyer. Education: Yale 1744.93

Alexander studied law at Yale, practicing for a time in Hebron, CT. While there, he represented the town in General Court several times. About 1766 he removed to Hanover, NY, and in 1771 to Lyme, Grafton Co., NH. He had large landed estates near Dartmouth college, and apopears to have been counsel for his father-in-law, Rev. Eleazer Wheelock, and the college association in their purchase and location; and appears to have purchased lands for himself at about the same time.229

On 20 Jan 1749 when Alexander was 26, he first married Anna [Phelps] in Hebron, CT.286 Anna died on 13 Apr 1750 in Hebron, CT.286

    i. Theodora Phelps, b. 9 Apr 1750, d. 14 Apr 1750; and
    ii. Anne Phelps, twin, b. 9 Apr 1750, d. 22 Apr 1750.286

On 9 Feb 1751/2 when Alexander was 29, he second married Theodora Wheelock, daughter of Rev. Eleazer Wheelock (22 Apr 1711-24 Apr 1779) & Sarah Davenport (Jul 1702-13 Nov 1746), in Hebron, CT.286 Born on 23 May 1736 in Lebanon, CT. Theodora died aft 1811 in Piermont, NH.
