18142. Catryntje Rees. Born ca May 1697. Catryntje was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 9 May 1697.242 Catryntje, of Andries Rees & Ariaantje Andriesz, witnesses Gysbert Merselis & Caatje Jansz.

ca 1725 Catryntje married Benjamin White, son of William White (ca 1665-5 Jan 1749/50) & Judith Meales (ca 1666-bef 8 Oct 1720). Born ca 1702. Benjamin was baptized in Kingston, Ulster, NY, on 9 May 1702.300 Sponsors: Gilbert Marcellus and Catherine Jans. Benjamin died ca 1764 in Crum Elbow, Dutchess Co., NY. Religion: Quaker.

Will: Benjamin’s will, dated 31 Dec 1756, proved 7 Feb 1764:
    I, Benjamin White, of Crom Elbow Precinct, Duchess County, being well in body, do make this my will to avoid contention among my children. I direct all debts paid. i leave to my beloved son Peter the farm or lot of land where he now lives. i leave to my sons, William and Andrew (whom I make executors) this arm or lot whereon I now live, with all buildings and improvments, likewise all my cows, horses, and live stock, farming, utensils and household goods. Witnesses, William Palmer, John Husted, Jacob Watson.

18143. Andries Janse Rees. Born in 1699. Andries Janse was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 9 Apr 1699.242 Andries, son of Andries Rees & Arianantje Scherp, witnesses Tomas Harmensz & Mayjen Oothout. Andries Janse died on 14 Dec 1768 in N. Egremont, Berkshire, MA.96 Buried in Race Cemetery, N. Egremont.96

Andries was listed by the Dwight Committee in 1753 as being the owner of one house and sixty acres of which he had been in possession for 16 years. At dawn, 15 Apr 1755, Willem Rees, brother of Andries, was killed while resisting the attempt of Livingston's men to evict him from his house. Andires was named as one of the group of over 100 men that went ot the Iron Works at Ancram and took some of the Livingston men to Springfield and put them in the jail after the death of Willem. Andries was one of a large group who purchases a large tract of land form the Stockbridge Indians. The deed was dated 29 Oct 1756. In Oct 1756 Andries was named in Judgement of Edjectment against "his rebellious tenants" obtained form Albany County Court by Robert Livingston. On 30 May 1757 Johathan Darby and Andrew Race signed petition to Providence of Massachusetts Bay to honor the purchase from the Indians on behalf of some forty inhabitants and for a time refered to as the "township of Taughkinnuk". On 25 Nov 1756 Andries Rees and two other families were evicted by sheriff and their house torn down. In 1761 Andries Race was listed as a taxpayer in Egremont along with John Race.96

On 2 Oct 1732 Andries Janse married Rebecca Prys, daughter of Prys/Paree, in Dutch Reformed Church, Catskill, NY.96 Born ca 1713.96 Rebecca died on 5 Nov 1801 in North Egremont.96 Buried in Race Cemetery, North Egremont.96

Prys, or Price. Andries and Rebecca were witnesses at several baptisms: 1756 for Daniel, son of Johannes Prys & Geessje Borgat; 1762 for their daughter Rebecca (daughter of Johannes Rees & Mareitje); and 1769 for their grandson Andreas (son of Niclaes Rees & Gesia Spoor).

18144. Neeltje Rees. Born ca 1701. Neeltje was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 6 Jul 1701.242 Neeltje, of Andries Rees & Ariaantje Scharp, witnesses Henrik and Debora Hansse, and Gysbert Scherp [uncle].

Henrick Van Deusen and Neeltje Rees were witnesses at the 1750 baptism of Jan, son of Jacobus Wheldohn and Elisabeth Van Deusen.

In 1730 Neeltje married Hendrick Abrahams Van Deusen, son of Abraham Teuwis Van Deusen (ca 1676-16 Apr 1746) & Jacomyntje Van Schoonhoven.96 Born ca Jun 1707 in Albany, NY. Hendrick Abrahams was baptized in Albany, NY, on 15 Jun 1707.415 Witnesses: Pierre & Henrikje Benoit. Hendrick Abrahams died on 27 Apr 1781 in Salisbury, CT.

    Hendrick “was probably a member of the Sixth Regiment, Albany County Militia, during the Revolutionary War. His son, Laurenz, was also probably a member of ‘Captain Fraens Claevw Jr.'s Company of Militia in Maey, 1767,’ of Kinderhook.”

18145. Elizabeth Rees. Born in 1704. Elizabeth was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 18 Jun 1704.242 Lysbeth, dau. of Andries Rees & Ariaantje Scharp, witnesses Jan [uncle] & Maria Rees.

Elizabeth, or Lysbeth. Adam and Elizabeth may have had two other children early on, but they probably died young.

On 4 May 1728 Elizabeth married Johannes Adam Silbernagel, son of Nicholas Silbernagel (ca 1670-ca 1723) & Gertruy [Silbernagel], in Claverack, Columbia Co., NY.300 Married“at the Kamp at Mr. Sallback’s, with certificate of Livingston’s ‘voorlezer’, Adam, son of Niclas Silbernagel, from Bingen, and Elizabeth, daughter of Andreas Rees, at klaverack.” Recorded at the New York Lutheran Church. Born ca 1700 in Bingen, Germany.

Johannes Adam, known as Adam, came with his parents and siblings about 1720.416

The member list for the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rhinebeck, about Feb 1734, lists the family group: Joh. Adam Silbernagel, his dau Gertraut, Nicolaus, and Andreas.

18147. Willem Rees. Born ca 1710. Willem was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 22 Jan 1710.242 Willem, son of Andries Rees & Ariaantje Scharp, witnesses Johs. Scharp [uncle] & Hilletje Goeway [wife of uncle Laurens Scharp]. Willem died on 15 Apr 1755 in Mount Washington, Berkshire Co., MA.96
