Did Cornelius have a first wife Catherine Schmiden? At the 1741 baptism of Cornelius Witbeck (his sister Christina’s son), there were sponsors Cornelius Rees & Catherine Schmiden. This would have been just about the time after his first marriage, if he had one.
On 6 Nov 1750 when Cornelius was 31, he married Lyntje Rees (18177) , daughter of Benjamin Rees (7113) (1694-) & Geertruy Witbeck (1697-), in Linlithgo Reformed Church, Livingston.300 Born ca 1719.
Cornelius and Lyntje were first cousins. Their fathers were brothers.
