On 14 Dec 1687 when Josiah was 22, he married Mercy Parish (3785) , daughter of Robert Parish (ca 1635-21 Aug 1709) & Mercy Crispe (1052) (ca 1648-bef 1 Apr 1686), in Dunstable, MA. Born on 5 Jan 1667/8. Mercy died in Dunstable, MA, on 25 Apr 1743; she was 75.

iii. Robert Richardson, b. 2 Oct 1693, m. Deborah;
iv. Zachariah Richardson, b. Feb 1695/6, d. 22 Mar 1776 at Chelmsford, m. Sarah Butterfield (b. 23 Sep 1701, d. 11 Aug 1788 at Chelmsford);
v. Hannah Richardson, b. 28 Sep 1698; and
vi. William Richardson, b. 19 Sep 1701, m. ca. 1722 Elizabeth Colburn.
