Will: John Merritt died intestate. Administration on his estate was given on July 1740 to his son John Merritt. Division was made to widow Mrs. Elizabeth Merritt; Ichabod Merrett, Henry Merrett, David Merrett, Ezakiel Merrett, Deborah Hatch, Elizabeth Prout, Mary Buck, Abigail House and the legal representatives of Ruth Lincoln, deceased. During his lifetime his son Henry had received £40 toward his portion; David, £32; Ezekiel £5; and John, Thomas and Jonathan Merrett had received their full portions.

Jacob Turner’s genealogy of the Turners shows that Israel and Sarah Turner had a son Seth, but no other record of him can be found.104

On 16 May 1695 when Joanna was 27, she married Joseph Thorne in Scituate, MA.85 Joseph died on 14 Jan 1731/2 in Hingham, MA.33

Was William perhaps the son of William & Mary Thorne of Boston? Or maybe William and Winnifred (Linnington) Thorne of Lynn, MA, and Hempstead, Long Island?

Samuel and Sarah probably lived near Curtis’s mill, west of the third Herring brook. The last of this family in Scituate was Coombs House, who removed to Pembroke ponds, 1808.6

On 12 Jan 1696/7 when Bathsheba was 22, she first married Joseph Nichols (26319) , son of Thomas Nichols (ca 1643-) & Sarah Whiston (14277) (ca 1643-), in Scituate, MA.85 Born on 29 May 1673 in Scituate, MA.116 Joseph died bef 8 Aug 1718.

Joseph lived near George Moore’s bridge.6
