Barnabas’ “house at Beach woods near Johnson’s swamp was burnt 1739, and the town voted to exempt him from taxes that year. ... Barnabas was an active man in the Revolutionary war. He resided near Halifax hill, and was succeeded in his residence by Ignatius Otis.”6

Barnabas was a prosperous farmer.120

[There was a Thomas Turner thought to be this one who, according to Briggs7 has a wife Mary and moved to Pembroke, and about 1760 to Southampton, VA, and afterward to North Carolina. There’s a confusioin among several Thomas Turners.
    1) Thomas Turner, b 1699 at Scituate, son of Thomas & Hannah (Jenkins) Turner, and
    2) Thomas Turner, b. 1711 at Scituate, son of Charles & Mercy (Curtis) Turner.
One of them married Mary Bryant 14 Feb 1732/3 at Scituate.
    3) Thomas Turner, d. 1792 at New London, CT, m. there 23 Nov 1727 Patience Bolles (b. 26 Nov 1709 at New London, d. there ca. 1760, dau. of John & Sarah (Edgecomb) Bolles).]
