On 3 Jul 1728 when Mary was 33, she married James Hyland (19132) , son of John Hyland (7630) (17 Mar 1670/1-5 Nov 1729) & Elizabeth James (ca Jul 1673-aft 8 Dec 1748), in Scituate, MA.85 Born on 10 Mar 1701/2 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 11, James was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 31 Aug 1712.116 James died bef 3 Jun 1776 in Scituate, MA.364

A biographical summary on a Scotland G. Highland from "History of Delaware Past & Present" dated 1929, Vol IV, states that Scotland was descended from Thomas Hyland who married Elizabeth Stockbridge in Scituate MA, thru their son John who married Elizabeth James, thru their son John born in Scituate MA but died in New Castle DE on 15 June 1744 and had married Mary Garretson (also spelled Garrison) Their son Henry Hyland b. 12 June 1741 in New Castle DE and married Mary Robinson 26 Dec. 1765. -- email message from Sharon Goetz, March 1999.
