21818. Elisha Cummings. Born ca 1719 in Topsfield, MA. Elisha was baptized in Topsfield, MA, on 2 Aug 1719.47 Elisha died ca 1790 in Bridgewater, NH.

From the Cummings Memorial about Elisha Cummings:47
    “Near of acore of sales or purchases are on record as made by him in or near Topsfield. It is said that during the waar of the Revolution he held some commission with reference to supplies for the army. this commission took him to Meredith, N. H., and adjacent towns. At any rate, he came up from his old home in the latter years of his life to live with Nathaniel or other children.”

    “Joseph “had a large estate, having bought up the rights of his grandfather’s heirs. He lived in the west half of his father’s homestead. At the death of his grandmother, 1770, he acquired title of the original 100 acres bequeathed by Ensign Howlet. Elijah was executer of his estate.”

On 20 Nov 1744 when Joseph was 22, he first married Mary Hale (27282) , daughter of Joseph Hale (15407) (23 Aug 1694-) & Mary Hovey (12 Oct 1696-25 May 1753), in Ipswich, MA. Born on 14 Jan 1725.47 Mary died in Boxford, MA, on 23 Dec 1758; she was 33.47

On 8 Jan 1751 when Hannah was 26, she married Robert Perkins, son of Robert Perkins (28 Feb 1696-15 Jun 1750) & Elizabeth Towne (1 Sep 1697-26 Nov 1772), in Linebrook parish.47 Born on 16 Jan 1727/8 in Topsfield, MA.47 Robert died on 10 Nov 1801; he was 73.47

    “In Ipswich he had lived in one-half of the homestead deeded to him by his father until 1757, when he conveyed his title to his brother Joseph, and removed to Topsfield. In 1786 he bought of the Rev. Joseph cummings his farm in Marlboro.”

On 5 Jul 1754 Peletiah first married Sarah Kimball, daughter of Abraham Kimball (14 Aug 1702-22 Nov 1772) & Elizabeth Houlton (7 Sep 1712-), in Wenham, MA. Born on 3 Dec 1732 in Wenham, MA.47 Sarah died in Topsfield, MA, on 22 May 1769; she was 36.47
