22853. Noah Phelps. Born on 21 Nov 1720 in Hebron, CT.286 Noah died in Green River, NY, on 10 Jun 1795; he was 74. Occupation: farmer.

Noah first settled in Hebron. In 1746 he removed to the upper end of Old Simsbury near Granby, thence to Green River, near Austerlitz, NY, where he died at the house of his son Jonah, and was buried in the old Calkins burying ground.229

ca 1742 Noah married Mary Tillotson, daughter of Jonathan Tillotson (26 Oct 1684-24 Aug 1753) & Rebecca Chamberlain (ca 1686-22 Aug 1753), in Hebron, CT.229 Born on 1 Jun 1721 in Oxford, MA. Mary died in Austerlitz, NY, on 31 Oct 1794; she was 73.229

22854. Barrett Phelps. Born on 20 Sep 1722 in Hebron, CT.286 Barrett died in 1789 in Cambridge, Washington Co., NY.229

Barret first settled in Hebron where he resided up to 1766, when he removed to Belcher, NY. He resided in Belcher for about two years, then returned to Hebron. Later in life he removed to Cahmbridge, NY, where some of his children settled. He served in the Revolutionary War, drafted in Capt. Skinner’s Co., 25 Aug 1777, discharged 2 Nov 1777.229

On 13 Feb 1751 when Barrett was 28, he married Hannah Bigelow (25296) , daughter of David Bigelow (13154) (ca 1706-2 Jun 1799) & Editha Day (10 Sep 1705-19 Jan 1746), in Hebron, CT.286 Born on 11 Nov 1730 in Colchester, CT. Hannah died in Cambridge, Washington Co., NY, on 1 Jun 1806; she was 75.229

22855. Elijah Phelps. Born on 31 Jul 1724 in Hebron, CT.286 Elijah died in Amenia, NY.229 Occupation: farmer.

Elijah first settled in Hebron where he lived a short time, from there to Nine Partners, NY, and thence to the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania. After the war he returned to New York State, residing in Dover and Amenia, NY, where he died. His first wife was a Ms Millard, his second a Ms Jennings, and he married 1 Aug 1748 Jemima Wilcox as his third wife. He served in the Revolutionary Army, and was a great sufferer in the Wyoming Valley Massacre. At one time he had four sons in the service.229

On 1 Aug 1748 when Elijah was 24, he married Jemima Wilcox, daughter of John Wilcox (5 Jul 1682-10 May 1751) & Mary Warner (-23 Apr 1735), in Hebron, CT.286 Born on 11 Jul 1723 in Hebron, CT.

Anne married Thomas Landers (33665) , son of Ebenezer Landers (25567) (17 Sep 1699-bef 22 Sep 1758) & Content Dexter (5 Feb 1701-bef 16 Jun 1749). Born on 27 Apr 1727 in Rochester, MA. Thomas died in Lenox, MA, on 24 Oct 1811; he was 84.422 Buried in Congregational Church Cem., Lenox. Occupation: carpenter, yeoman.

Will: Will of Thomas Landers:422 In the Fear of God, Amen, I Thomas Landers of Lenox in the County of Berkshire in the Commonwealth of Mafsachusetts yeoman, calling to mind the uncertainty of Life, do this twenty fourth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight, make, publish, and declare this my last Will and Testament, in manner following, viz

Principally and first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it; in humble hope of his mercy and gracious acceptance, only thro the merits and interception of my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. My body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the discretion of my Executor herein after named; nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God.

And touching the wordly estate wherewith it has pleased God to blefs me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in manner following.

First I order all my just debts and funeral charges to be paid out of my perfonal estate in a convenient time after my decease and also the charge of setling my estate.

I give to my true and beloved Wife Mary the use and improvement of all the Real Estate of which I am seized and pofefsed and lying in the Town of Lenox aforesaid, together with the use of all my perfonal estate including my rights after my just debts and funeral charges and charges of setling my estates are paid during the term she may remain my widow.

I give and devise to my four sons Ebenezer, Joseph, Isaiah, and John one certain piece or parcel of Land lying and being situated in the Town of Jerico in the County of Tioga in the State of New York and on the west side of and adjoining the Susquehannah River and including the river; containing about ninety acres, to have and to hold the same, to them, their Heirs or afsigns forever. I also give to each of my said four sons one sixth part of my personal estate which may remain at the marriage or decease of my said Wife.

I give to each of my daughters, Sarah the wife of Solomon Curtis and Lucy the wife of Asher Markham, one twelfth part of my perfonal estate which may remain at the marriage or decease of my said wife.

I give and devise to my son Asahel his Heirs and afsigns forever, all the real estate whereof I am seized and pofsefs lying in the said Town of Lenox, after the marriage or decease of my said wife; and also one sixth part of my personal estate which may remain at the marriage or decease of my said wife and I dohereby appoint my son Asahel, sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I have here unto set my Hand and Seal the day first above written.

On 17 Feb 1761 when Asa was 25, he married Martha Bronson, daughter of Benjamin Bronson (4 Apr 1697-22 Jun 1753) & Martha Barnes (8 Mar 1702-26 Jan 1775), in Kent, CT.422 Born on 20 Jul 1738 in Farmington, CT. Martha died in New York, on 2 Dec 1813; she was 75. Buried in Scutt Cemetery,Preston Hill,Albany County.
