David and Deborah resided in Scituate. He was often employed in public business. They left no family.6

On 19 Feb 1734 when David was 21, he married Deborah Clap (32655) , daughter of David Clap (23351) (Nov 1684-) & Deborah Otis (25757) (24 Apr 1694-), in First Parish Church, Scituate.85 Born on 2 Dec 1714 in Scituate, MA.116 Deborah died in 1792 in Scituate, MA.121 Buried in Scituate, MA GR6.

Joseph Otis (13737) (1665-11 Jun 1754) & Dorothy Thomas (13755) (6 Nov 1670-10 Jan 1755), in First Parish Church, Scituate.116,85 Born on 1 Oct 1712 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, Joseph was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 13 Jun 1714.116 Joseph died ca 1793 in Richmond, MA.223

Joseph was of New London when he married Elizabeth.116

Joseph moved to Richmond, MA. “He was noted for going to sleep in his wagon and other places. He sometimes fell asleep while smoking; so often breaking his pipe in this way that he procured one made of iron. It was told of him by Dr. Watson of Colchester that when at church one Sunday, the sermon happening to be longer than usual, he took out a doughnut, and while in the act of biting it, fell asleep. His head fell back with the cake protruding from his mouth, and he was an object of great merriment.”223

Benjamin was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 13 May 1716.116 Benjamin died aft 1781.

23656. Mercy Little. Born on 8 May 1724.

On 2 Feb 1740 when Mercy was 15, she married Joseph Otis (25222) , son of Capt. Stephen Otis (13735) (1661-26 Aug 1733) & Hannah Ensign (13010) (ca 1667-1 May 1729), in First Parish Church, Scituate.85 Born on 16 Mar 1709/10 in Scituate, MA.116 Joseph died in Scituate, MA, on 11 Sep 1788; he was 78.116 Buried in Union Street Cem., Scituate Centre.

Joseph and Mercy lived at the ‘Two Stacks’ with her brother Barnabas.7

Joseph was representative from Boston, and keeper of the jail; also mariner, and sheriff of Suffolk Co. After his death, his widow married Rev. John Hancock, the father of the governor. Joseph and his descendants occupied for many years the old house, built about 1700, known as ‘The Old Two-Stacks’. This house, however, was not built by Joseph, but by his wife’s family, the Littles.223

23657. Barnabas Little. Born on 18 Feb 1725.116 At the age of 1, Barnabas was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 5 Jun 1726.116 Barnabas died in Scituate, MA, on 6 Dec 1789; he was 64.116

“Barnabas was a public spirited and useful man, and distinguished for his zeal in promoting the American cause in 1776; he left no family.”6

Barnabas ws a wealthy and influential man who held many town offices, and loaned large sums of money to help carry on the Revolutionary War. He leat the estate to his nephew, John Otis, son of Moseph and Mercy (Little).7
