On 10 Nov 1763 when Samuel was 24, he married Mercy Hatch (32731) , daughter of Hezekiah Hatch (24152) (1 Jan 1701/2-) & Patience Ellms (23549) (29 Jan 1699/1700-16 Mar 1743), in Marshfield, MA.¹¹⁶ Born on 30 May 1734 in Scituate, MA.¹¹⁶ Mercy died on 5 Mar 1781; she was 46.

Children of Samuel and Mercy: Samuel 1765, Jotham 1767, Charles 1768, Elisha 1779, Benjamin 1818, Calfin 1774, Luther 1777, Hatch 1781.²¹
