25672. Evert Seger. Born ca May 1720 in Kingston, Ulster Co., NY. Evert was baptized in Kingston, Ulster Co., NY, on 29 May 1720. Eevert, son of Johannes Zeger & Bregjen Wieler, witnesses Zalomon Vanderwilligen & Geesjen Oostrander.

Jacob Sager, son of George, and a descendant of Cornelius Segers and father of George J. and A. Park Sager, came to Syracuse June 1, 1847. Evert Seager, grandfather of Jacob Sager, was a private in Co. John Harper's regiment of New York militia in the Revolution in 1780. Thomas Seager, uncle of Jacob, also served in that war in the 6th company of the 1st regiment of special levy for frontier duty, and died while so engaged October 18, 1778. In consequence his heirs were entitled to five hundred acres of the military tract and on Sept. 13, 1790, lot 19 in Tully was issued to his sister, Syntie Sager.
In 1780 Evert saw duty in Captain Isaac Bogart's Company, Col.John Harper's Regiment.
On 21 Apr 1744 Evert married Sara Orchard in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.242 Evert Zeger, y.m., & Zara Aarscherd, y.d.
