John was town clerk 1717-1721, teacher of grammar school 1714, selectman 1719, 1729, and 1721. He resided on North St., near Magoon’s Bridge.33

Benjamin was selectman for 16 years from 1727 through 1750. He succeeded his father as town clerk, elected to that office 24 Jul 1727. He was representative to the General Court in 1746, 1747, and 1748; and was a member of his Majesty’s Council from 1753 t0 1770. He resided on the paternal homestead, North, corner of Lincoln St.33

On 3 Jan 1721/2 when Samuel was 26, he first married Sarah Marshall, daughter of John Marshall.33 Born on 5 Apr 1700.33 Sarah died in Hingham, MA, on 26 Jul 1727; she was 27.33 33
