Nathaniel “settled at the well known [in 1831] John Tilden Farm, a mile north-west of the Harbour. The house stood nearly where stands the house of John Man.”6

On 5 Nov 1673 Nathaniel first married Mary Sharp, daughter of Robert Sharp (ca 1614-Jul 1653) & Abigail Wright (ca 1623-), in Scituate, MA.85 Born ca 1652 in Roxbury, MA. Mary was baptized in Roxbury, MA, on 5 Dec 1652. Mary died on 25 Feb 1689 in Scituate, MA.116

“John had lands contiguous to his brother Nathaniel’s farm, but leaving no children, they were inherited by Joseph the son of Nathaniel.”6

26246. Rebecca Tilden. Born in Feb 1654 in Scituate, MA.3 Rebecca died on 1 Apr 1740 in Scituate, MA.116

On 8 Jul 1673 Rebecca married Lieut. James Briggs (2994) , son of Walter Briggs (815) (-ca 1684) & Mary [Briggs] (-aft 1684), in Scituate, MA.116 Born in 1645 in Scituate, MA.116,7 James died on 18 Aug 1703 in Scituate, MA.116

“James resided at Conihassett on a part of his father’s farm, which part, with the house standing upon it, was conveyed by gift to him by his parents in 1673, a few days before his marriage. It is thought that the house mentioned in the deed of gift was that named in the deed from Timothy Hatherly in 1651 to Walter Briggs, who built a nwe house upon the farm.”7

He served in King Philip’s war as a lieutenant. He was surveyor of highways, constable 1676, and selectman 1689.7

26248. Stephen Tilden. Born on 14 May 1659 in Scituate, MA.3 Stephen died in Marshfield, MA, on 2 Nov 1732; he was 73.

Stephen was in Marshfield.6

Stephen married Abigail Clap (11078) , daughter of Dea. Thomas Clap (3451) (1597-20 Apr 1684) & Abigail Wright (ca 1623-). Born on 19 Jan 1659/60 in Scituate, MA.3

Abigail was living, unmarried in 1684.279

Samuel settled on the Norh river, between Gravelly beach and Union bridge.6

On 25 Jul 1694 when Samuel was 33, he married Sarah Curtis (1071) , daughter of Richard Curtis (400) (ca 1620-15 Oct 1693) & Ann Hallet (1330) (ca 1628-bef 1692), in Scituate, MA.116 Born on 20 Jul 1663 in Scituate, MA.116 Sarah died ca 1739.

According to Deane,6 Sarah was Samuel’s second wife.

William was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 26 Jun 1664.116 William died on 2 Mar 1731/2 in Lebanon, CT.104

“William, jr. succeeded his father in business and usefulness in the town. ... He sold his farm, warehouse, &c. to Job Otis 1710, for 400£, and removed to Lebanon, Con.”6

26252. Benjamin Tilden. Born ca 1668 in Scituate, MA. Benjamin was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 20 Feb 1688.116 Benjamin died in 1693.6

Benjamin had a farm in Marshfield on the North river. He died unmarried in 1693, and left his lands to his ‘seven brothers and sisters,’ and not naming John.6
